My hips have taken such a toll from commuting that any form of squatting has become my weakest movement. Making a goal to get up and move during my rotations for the next 3 months, starting with planks. • Everything starts with a plank - it teaches you how to find, keep neutral spine and learn bracing of your core. Focus on shoulder stacked over elbows, lock ribs and pelvis to create a stiff link through the whole body. I tell my classes to think belly button to your spine and to create a concave with your body. Lastly, remember to breathe. Relaxing your face will help relax your body. The more tension we create with our face the more mentally tough we make the movement. • Perform this movement 3 times 1:00 plank/1:00 min rest or even spice it up with Tabata :20s work/:10s rest for 6 min. • Happy Planking! #wellnesswednesday #rd2be #beyoutifullybulletproof #plankitout #fitness
