He probably had to grow up too fast after Arthur's death (also probably before that) he was alone after and before his death. But he forces himself to carry everything on his shoulders. He protects the people he loves as best as he can by paying for their mistakes by doing penance for them.

Each night to be a grown-up

This part with c! Owen because he was conditioned by his Dad and the people in his district to hate and kill demons. This act was good for the people around him. He lived like this just before the he was sent to the maze. He could not remember this hate was he barely any memories. But, as soon his got his memories back he went back to that hate.

Do I make it accurate and force Owain to hold his Zweihander with two hands, or is he just "like that" and gets to hold it with one hand? (Like a cretin.)

Siggghhhhh- When the interests align, but ever so slightly in the painful way that comes with inaccuracy. (This is not a hate on Owain; this could never be a hate on Owain. Who do you think I am?)

Do we remember how people would throw tomatoes at Owain, and he would just take it? Yeah. That's what I'm thinking about.

There's no way his armor was easy to clean off. Methinks he believes he deserved it.

You know how people in stockades would get tomatoes (and rocks) thrown at them? Mhm.

Is Owain's armor a metaphorical stockade that he has put himself in? Hmmmm.

To the people with rogue Owain AUs:

1. Love that.

2. Imagine a guy who gets so used to sneaking around and then starts to wear big clunky armor, so he habitually walks light, but it doesn't do anything because everyone can just hear CLANK CLANK CLINK.

3. Cat propaganda. People see Owain jumping from buildings, freak out, and he walks off fine because he knows how to land without jarring his ankles.

4. Rat propaganda. People find Owain digging random holes. He claims it's to check the safety of the building or land, or he's making sure no one is tunneling in, but he actually just likes the ground. (This is what the claws on his armor are for. Promise.)

5. The inability to climb something in heavy armor that he knows would be easy to climb otherwise. He can't contort and anchor his body appropriately in the armor, so he really can't climb.

Early Bannerfall Owain: "I'm the kind of guy who just needs bread and water to live."

Owain when Blue Kingdom has animals: "No bread. Just meat."

(I always found this funny. I know it was for the saturation during fights, but I always giggled when someone gave him bread, and he just went "nevermind" and gave it back.)

Was rewatching some of Owen's Bannerfall vods.

Thinking about how Owain seems to comfort some of his kingdom members by using head pats. Correlating that to thinking about Arthur and some of the Walesland knights comforting a younger Owain the same way.

Owain has a collection of items he's kept from the other kingdom members/past memorial relics, so like, one of Eloise's feathers, one of Kitty's mice, Mae's various red kingdom treasures, ect... and maybe past relics like a Walesland flag, maybe his prince crown (if he has one), or his old training sword

Bf fic writers, we need to fix the Owain situation! Most fics under his tag are flowersmith and the rest are lionkitty. I have absolutely nothing against flowersmith or lionkitty but we need more Owain centric fics. He has so much angst potential and I haven’t seen a single fic bring up the fact that he is basically canonically aroace! I’m gonna start writing hurt/comfort fics myself with aroace!Owain but I don’t really want to read my own content
