it's not my best work because I'm sick right now and every breath I take has me sounding like a gold medalist competitor in vaccum impersonations. But!!!! I was feeling kind of knightpilled.

Owain and Kitty retiring happily to run their knight academy and healing as people. Owain learns to accept himself and others and eventually, switching out his helmet. He's not an active duty knight anymore, and Kitty has convinced him that he has no more large penance to pay. He still doesn't like to show his face though, so he switches to more casual/partial forms of cover like veils. Veil Owain. Opening up about his backstory in it's entirety to Kitty.

Kitty becoming more capable and learning about different cultures and fully accepting themselves as human and encouraging their students to search for their own way of knighthood. Becoming an amazing teacher due to their own struggles in understanding the ways these things are usually taught.

Bannerfall is much calmer these days, but sometimes remnants of the creaking still appear. In one such event, Owain injures himself in defense of his students and entrusts the entire academy to Kitty before passing with his trusted allies at his side. It's a sad event, but he got to say his final goodbyes and assure everyone that his time with them was happy and healing and that all he wants is to be known as the co founder of his lovely school and the partner to his lovely Kitty.

There's already a statue of Owain and Kitty on the school grounds in their armour, at the front entrance, to watch over new arrivals to their school. But there's a second one in the back gardens, which Owain made himself and was buried under. Someday, when their school is in trusted hands, Kitty will go there as well. It's a smaller statue of a lion and a cat, sunbathing together. A little plaque under the lion says nothing but 'Owain O'Doyle', missing the honours that are tributed to them inside the school

Coincidentally, word spread to Walesland around this time of a new knight academy in the kingdom of Bannerfall that had started up in recent years and accepts students from other kingdoms who may be troubled and needing help that their mentors don't feel they can give them. It's a brilliant program, but that's not what catches the attention of the round table knights. It's the name of the founder.

It's Gawain and Galahad who go in the end, tasked with finding and possibly bringing home the king killer for proper trial, but they've also been given permission to return if he's too heavily protected by his academy and it would be too costly, given the time passed. They meet with the other founder, and the queens of the land. They express their history with and recent rediscovery of Owain, and question what they know of him and his past.

They think it's odd they never see the man himself, until Kitty expresses that he told them exactly what his history in Walesland entails and that it no longer matters. Gawain is offended by the idea that the death of their king, even if Kitty is correct in her claims that Owain was framed, could ever cease in importance. It's not until they're taken to his academy, and they meet the students, and they hear of his tales before finally finding the garden, do they understand.

I either want something really bad to have happened to Owain on his trip, with him being forced to go through Walesland instead of Barrowhill and struggling appropriately, or I want it to have been super nice and fun and joyous and for him to show up in the middle of very serious lore to start talking about his fish again. No in between.

(Cough. Just saying though. Veil Owain. Owain fancy attire including a veil to replace his helmet. Propaganda.)
