God i'm so scared for IDFB. Because of BFB's not-very-good characterization for older characters, whoever's gonna write IDFB is probably gonna have to make a lot of questionable writing decisions just so that the weird ass personality changes in BFB makes sense. With BFDIA being a incomplete season and IDFB only having one episode, a lot of the personality changes in BFB could be excused, like yeah, a lot of them were still awful, like hell ask any Pencil or Match fan about their characterization when BFB first came out, but it's understandable, they were working with what they had, BFB was pretty much meant to be a reboot for the series, new art style, new setting, new host, new everything. But now, with BFDIA finished and IDFB most likely returning very soon, I fear that they'll gradually fuck up the characters just to justify how they act in BFB, like i'm not saying "Man how dare past Cary and Michael not being able to predict themselves bringing back a season that has been cancelled for years", it's just that i'm afraid of how IDFB's writing is gonna be. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they just kept the characters as their BFDIA-selves and the drastic personality changes in BFB were just a random inconsistence. I'm not ready for what they'll do to Book or how they're gonna try to justify her behavior in BFB.

WARNING: SPOILER-ISH

Whenever I feel bad for Firey, I remind myself that he left his friend to fend for herself, let her be killed by another guy, and even when he revived her, he left her to fend for herself again, ignored her for God-knows-how-long, and when finally making up with her, he claims that he felt betrayed by her stealing his island, (which WAS bad, sorry, I'm still re-watching BFB, just wanted to get this out, using memory,) despite the fact that he kicked her out all because she didn't like a ferris wheel he made for her even though SHE WAS DYING FROM THE LAVA, SOMETHING HE SHOULD'VE PUT TOGETHER. (Reminder that he left after claiming he didn't want Dream Island, but wanted HER.)

post split is good it just. doesnt FEEL like bfdi. its better as like a standalone thing

i guess i kinda get what u mean but i think even if post split was just its own thing i still wouldnt like it KJSDHFKJSDHFH like i rewatched it enough times to kinda just. understand that im not gna enjoy it SKDFKSJDF

the writing isnt good theres a noticable shift in how the characters act to the point where its just not fun for me to watch (note: taco and four immediately come to mind, post split is actually the reason i dont really like taco anymore IM SORRY FUCK 🥹🥹) even loser i notice the writing is weird w her its all just so . inconsistent to me

its a slog for me!!! im still gna watch it for writing reasons ofc but hoooooh man its like. exhausting to go thru for me i just plain n simple dont like it

BFB 27 wrote leafy terribly because they were scared that she would win the whole thing so they needed to artificially make a reason to get her out.

I always see people talk about bfb pre-split like it's the Peak of object cinema and the best bfdi season but honestly I can't sit through ANY of bfb. pre-split feels like a boring nothingburger and post-splits audio design feels like someone scraping metal against a cheese grater sometimes

my biggest gripe with post-split wasn't the animation or the characterization or even the story it was just that it was so boring

for a show that kept trying to drag new storylines into it, I could barely keep my attention on it the whole time. there was so much going on and somehow NONE of it was interesting.

I don’t know how 11-12 year old me got through BFB because I rewatched the first 3 episodes with my friend and it was INTOLERABLE
