B-Fest 2017!
This past weekend, Northwestern university hosted B-Fest 2017, the annual 24-hour B-movie marathon where a couple hundred film fans meet in the dark to see if they can stay awake during a rather motley crew of film fare!
This year’s festival featured such terrible films as Hercules in New York (Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first film), Malibu Express (the ne plus ultra of Andy Sidaris films), and They Live (a Reagan-era film that has become all too relevant in 2017)!
The full lineup is worth perusing, as it gives you an idea of how much the attendees could withstand! The nadir of this year’s lineup was no doubt The Gong Show Movie, which is one of those films that makes you question why good film was wasted in the creation of such a product!
We had hoped to send a troupe of interns from the Fake Criswell home office, but we ended up going to another event that was being held on Saturday, and somehow forgot to attend! Sorry about that, guys.
At any rate, I trust that all attendees enjoyed themselves, that there were very few accidental dismemberments this year, and that everyone got home in time to take a good long nap! Congratulations to all attendees, and start getting ready for B-Fest 2018.

HAPPY B-FEST 2017!
GREETINGS, MY FRIENDS! This #FutureFriday is also the kick-off day for B-Fest 2017, and I couldn’t be more excited if I was on special medication!
Even as I type these words, people are lining up in the student center on the Northwestern University campus, ready to take their movie punishment in the form of 24 hours of B movies!
The excitement begins this evening at 6:00pm local time, so start reviewing Twitter at that time for the play-by-play action. The hashtag #bfest will be your guide through the descent into madness!
Your dear friend the Fake Criswell will be in attendance for at least the first movie of the festival! I may have to drop out early, due to an evening conference where I have to give a speech on the future of pesticides, but be on the lookout for a thin, cadaverous countenance hiding in the shadowy depths of the theater! (That’s Dave; he know where I’ll be sitting)

B-Fest 2017 tickets on sale!
Yes, my friends, once again Northwestern University, located in picturesque Evanston, Illinois, hosts B-Fest, the annual 24-hour B-movie film festival! One of the high points of my film year, B-Fest usually has at least one film each year that shocks and astounds the crowd! Previous festivals have included everything from Stunt Rock to Black Shampoo, with stops at all the Godzilla films and every bad MST3K episode you remember!
Tickets are currently on sale for this year’s event, which is happening the weekend of January 20-21, and if you’re anywhere in the area I would highly recommend checking the event out! Full details and advance tickets are available at the B-Fest Website. I predict that I WILL see you there!
