Wait, what happened with StoreEnvy and Homestuck? I know about how What Pumpkin goes hard in the paint when it comes to copyright, but the StoreEnvy thing is new to me. Mostly because I don't keep up with the times.
i guess they can issue a dmca or violation of copyright/ip law and as soon as they do storenvy shuts the store down until you do one of these:
take the work down/hide it
provide proof of permission or proof of your own copyright
provide a counter argument attempting to point out any errors
since my work can be classified as derivative/parody (lets face it is he gonna draw roxy and john smoking a fatty bowl??) then as long as i dont associate myself w wp or homestuck in any way i can still sell my prints
by putting something along the lines like "this work is a parody and/or derivative work and i in no way associate myself or any of my work with any existing works similar to this" (i dont have a very legal/lawyer vocab so theres prob somethin better i could put) they have no case against me unless they want to take this to a large court in which case theyd only lose more money than it was worth because not a lot of ppl buy my shit in the first place lol; theyre essentially missing out on like $60 tops
i have to take a closer look at storenvys own personal 'law' (this is literally what it says in laymans terms) and see if my argument is valid
otherwise ill just go elsewhere or open up my own personal store
