Bringing home a princess || Dantana

Summary: Dani brings Baylee home to Santana who has no idea about any of the stuff that has been happening these past few days

Dani

Today was the day Dani is to bring Baylee home. The whole situation was still so surreal. On her way to child services she picked up a couple of things that a little girl may like though of course Dani is clueless when it comes to that so ended up buying her some race car toy. She tried though. Arriving at the familiar building that had changed her life forever she stepped inside and smiled softly and nervously down at the little girl waiting for her. Thumb in mouth, and a cute little pink backpack on. The man she had met with gave her Baylee's belongings and helped get everything in the car. She strapped Baylee in the car seat that Baylee had among all of her stuff and then she got in herself. "Hey I got you this neat toy." Dani said handing her the car. Baylee didn't look too pleased but she took it anyway. But still...No words. Which wasn't surprising. The girl must be terrified. 

The entire ride home was just one big awkward silence. Dani turned in her seat to explain everything as best she could to the little girl. "Okay Baylee I know you're only little but I want you to try and understand me okay? I know I haven't been in your life but I didn't know I had you...I'm your other mommy, and now it's my turn to have you. And I promise I'm going to take great care of you...Well me and Santana. Santana is my wife. So she's your step mommy and..." Dani was rambling realizing that this kid was three. She probably didn't understand a word she was saying. "All you need to know is that I'm your mommy." She nodded the girl nodded back at her understanding completely. 

Taking a deep breath Dani got out of the car. She got Baylee out too and held onto the tiny girl's hand and helped her inside. She made her way into the kitchen and gulped seeing her wife's back. "Um..B..Babe." Dani said. This was it. This was really happening.."I want you to...Meet my d..daughter...Baylee." She said feeling like she was about to faint. The little girl next to her, so small and scared.
