This was some Beauty and the Beast type shit going on. Minus the fact that he hadn’t upset some witch (at least, not to his knowledge), and the fact that inanimate objects hadn’t suddenly come to life, Jonghyun was sure that his life had suddenly become the fairytale classic. He still wasn’t sure why he had changed– but finding out his origin story was the least of his concerns. After all, he had turned into a cat. A goddam cat. 

At least he had been adopted. Some weird artsy type had found Jonghyun huddled by some paint-supply store in the rain, and had opted on taking the creature home. The boy – cat? – had been happy at first. Now, he would be fed and kept warm, and given attention. Granted, he was given a dumb girly name– ‘Angel’– but it wasn’t too horrible. Not a bad life for a pet, right? Wrong. This artsy type – Byunghun, was his name – already had two pets. Not just any pets– two dogs. And they were clearly his favorite. They had so many toys, and outfits… How annoying. Jonghyun was jealous, though he’d never admit it. So, he decided he would win Byunghun’s attention from those two mutts. Jonghyun personally thought he was much cuter than Dong and Kan. Why didn’t Byunghun love him more? That was it– he’d just have to emphasize his cuteness! That would work! Then Byunghun would love him the most, and they’d cuddle every night, and it would be great. 

Softly padding towards the aforementioned male, Jonghyun lightly swished his tail back and forth, before hopping on to the boy’s lap and gazing upwards, with the widest and cutest eyes he could possibly muster. Letting out a soft ‘meow’ he tilted his head to the right, waiting for a reaction. Byunghun looked somewhat busy, slapping colors on some large white object, but that didn’t matter– This was the moment. Those stupid dogs were going down.

While he’s not as lonely as he used to be, there are still days which Henry has to spend alone — and really, really doesn’t want to. The idol knows plenty of people, especially within the entertainment industry, but he’s not close to many. Byunghun is one of them. But that has never stopped Henry from inviting people over regardless — one time he even met Block B’s Zico at a restaurant and promptly dragged him back to his place to show off his apartment. This time however, he did it the normal way and gave the younger rapper a call instead, hoping to finally find someone who’s free — and now here they are, hanging out at Henry’s place while he’s sitting at his piano and randomly playing a few notes. The fact that they’re not exactly close with each other doesn’t bother the idol, but he’s still trying to find a way how to break the ice somehow. “Wait,” he then says, looking up at the other as he remembers something, “don’t you play the piano, too?”

my crush is bhljoe! it's hard to say why i love him so much... there's just so many things! he's an amazing and lovely person, and i cherish him above all else. i tell him i hate him and threaten to dump him every ten minutes, but i love him with all my heart. he's such a perfect human, and i'm so incredibly lucky to have met him in this lifetime. he's the one who holds my heart, and i love him more and more with each day that passes.

⌜ Oh my ─ this sounds so cute! I think that acouple that can play around is the best typeof couple. Did you watch a sad movie again?” Perhaps he was cold for this, but he was far more curious than concerned, mostly because there was the slightest hint of a smile on her expression. If that weren’t there, maybe he’d respond differently. But it was, so he’s just staring blatantly at her, as if he’d discover the reason for her tears by her features alone. “What was it this time? Frozen?”

 Furrowed brows deepened in their joining as the young girl slowly shook her head in response. “ Movie--? No- “ She muttered and wiped at her eyes slowly before pouting. True, she had cried over a movie before but this time it wasn’t the reason. Taking a deep breath she pouted a bit more as her stomach growled loudly, and with a pat too it’s surface she made bambi eyes in his direction. “ It seems I haven’t had enough to eat sunbae, and I ran out of bread-”

meraki: to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself into your work.

Music is one of the few companions that follows each step, each twist and turn of life from youth to old age.  From the moment limbs and a beating heart manifest themselves, music is the first of the many elements they’re exposed to- one that persists in the daunting presence of time. Hushed lullabies and classical melodies imprint themselves upon untouched skin, tell stories to those who have yet to comprehend them.  

When she’s old enough to start collecting memories they come easily: baby pink and the velvety keys of a piano, barely-scuffed ballet shoes (she never ends up learning much but she remembers how graceful the older dancers had looked, each step so delicate and precise in their movements. she never forgets them); nights twirling violently and collapsing on the ground in a fit of giggles as she belts along to BoA’s Girl’s on Top, lips a slick red from the popsicle she’s polished clean.  The soft crooning voices of 클래지콰이 as she watches the rain patter down on, then slide off of the car window– a song she eventually associates with her first love, and her first heartbreak.

Somehow, nothing quite compares to this.

This is clicking on the radio and hearing her own voice trickling out of the speakers.  This is feeling the vibrations buzz against the soles of her feet as she’s thrust under the light and dances until she’s breathless once again (she thinks she tastes baby pink on the tip of her tongue).  This is waking up to the startling realization that she’s always admired music, and she’s now finally stepping into the thresholds of dreams turned into reality.  Suddenly the world’s all the more colorful, more vibrant, and she doesn’t think she can get enough of it.

Once she catches him with that very same expression she knows she’s succumbed to, the awareness of how much bigger they’ve become.  It’s so breathtaking and humbling at the same time to finally become immersed in something they’ve always held as a part of themselves; it’s a feeling that can’t be put in words.  

This is why she sings.
