So a thought just occured to me as I started to each lunch about our favorite half n half
Is Todoroki's dick half cold and half hot
It is so fucking hilarious to me that you went through the EXACT SAME Bakugou evolution that I did when I started watching/reading BNHA, like the EXACT. SAME.
Ha! I have never, ever cared for the shonen trope of the ‘Tough, mean protagonist who acts more like an antagonist but is actually a Nice Guy™ you just need to get underneath all his anger issues but he had a bad childhood so it’s ok’ like no.
But that’s the thing I love most about bnha (which i plan on making a meta about when I finish the two metas in my draft and the half finsihed story…) is that so many of the characters at first look like common shonen tropes but up growing more complex and almost subverting the trope.
Like Bakugou, he’s a total jerk at the beginning but as the series goes on it teases apart his past and his motivations. He NEEDS to be the best because everyone said he was and he never had someone to control his immense ego. He’s intelligent, calm and savvy in battle because he knows when he needs to step but also emotionally labile every other time because he’s trying SO HARD to prove himself. He has no idea what to do with his emotions in these trying times which causes him to have tantrums and breakdowns throughout the series. He’s 15, his emotions are all over the place and it feels genuine.
He’s a kid who was never told No who’s now being faced with not being the Special Kid anymore not to mention dealing with his conflict with Izuku which is a Whole Other Complex Issue. But he cares man, he just doesn’t know how to show it without sacrificing his drive to get to the top. If he didn’t care he wouldn’t have felt so guilty over his role in All Might’s retirement. Izuku gets it, he holds no ill will against his former bully because he knows Kaachan is doing it for his own ambitions. Izuku just learned to step up and not to let Bakugou’s zeal get in the way of his own dreams. Like shit man, it’s fascinating. It becomes clear by the USJ arc, and really the Sports Tournament arc, that there’s more to Bakugou then the angry shonen protagonist and I am thrilled to see where he goes from here.
has a teenager ever swore at you? 😣
"I feel like every teacher has had a student swear at them for some reason. Especially in stressful rescue scenarios-"
(Gently gives Thirteen a plushy of Midnight) Here!
"I didn't know midnight had plush merch! Due to plushies being marketed to children and all..."
Honestly I think you and Midnight would be really cute. But i don’t think us Anons interfering with you and her is any way to get to that point
"First of all how did you- I-I mean- you Anons sure love to theorize, huh? heh... Its endearing don't get me wrong, but focus on your studies first and foremost! I have it perfectly under control-!"
✏ < Thirteen! Have you ever swore yourself? Like ...near someone or something like that?
"At least i haven't swore in front of students...or the press."
// Hey guys! mod here. Sorry for the delay and inactivity!!! I've had a surgery a while back and currently am taking the time to rest and recover. I feel a lot better now and will try to pick up some asks when i can, thank you for your patience! ♡
