First off, a (late) Eid Mubarak to the ML fandom!! :D Ya know i had to give Bhunara that fresh Eid fit (and Tikki too!). And, of course, when Eid comes we gorge ourselves on sweets, so Tikki will be in paradise.

you are one of THE most inspiring people on the internet for me. Thank you for being you. Your character Bhunara is the reason I proudly announce that I'm from Pakistan. :) (btw she's also my fictional halal crush lmao)

like (okay this is gonna be sappy as heck but endure it) i read this and couldnt believe that i made an impact?? like i just draw this character because i want to see hijabis in media that AREN’T like “oh tom you liberated me” before whipping their hijabs off, and other people saw it and liked it!! like, sometimes i forget that there are actual real people seeing my things and it just seems so wild to me that so many people see my art. im so happy that you like her, im so GOBSMACKED that i inspire you (because seriously, im pretty sure we’re the same age and no 17 year old I know is inspiring LMAO) and im really really happy that you can be proud of being Pakistani because of her.

Hi there! I have a q, who or what does Bhunhara's partner look like? And gods I hope I spelled her name right.

Hi! Sorry this took so long to answer :) i had a vague idea about what I wanted her teammates to be like but i had to do some research and designing first. And thank you for asking about my AU! That makes me very happy :D

I’m going to be drawing these characters in color, and making comics about their dynamics as well, so now Bhunara is less lonely :D

ALSO: if you know more about the cultures/traditions that I researched to design these characters, and if my designs are somehow offensive/inaccurate, please tell me so I can change/take it down :)

Francisca: She’s Chilean, but i designed her hero outfit after the indigenous Mapuche tribe (the biggest one in Chile). Her name is also just Fox in Mapudungun. For her I’m thinking she has Mapuche roots but is a bit disconnected from them. Her hero outfit is a mix of traditional Mapuche dress for women (the küpam being the square cloth, and her thick belt being the tariwe). Sadly i couldn’t find a lot of references online but I read an article and looked at lots of images, and I saw many of them had capes, so I fashioned that into her fox-tail.

Mikhail: He is Malaysian. His hero name is also just Cat (not black cat, literally just cat LOL) in Malay (pronounced Ku-ching... I’m pretty sure, correct me if im wrong). His hero outfit is inspired by traditional Malaysian men’s clothing called Baju Melayu in the Cekak Musang style, with the “kain samping” (the skirt-like adornment i guess you could say) wrapped around his waist. Traditionally lots of Muslim Malaysian men also wear a hat called a songkok, and I was going to give Mikhail one (as he’s also Muslim) but I couldn’t figure out a way to give him cat ears then, and i didn’t want to just stick them on the songkok, so yeah.

Dante: He’s Jamaican. It seems like a lot of Jamaican culture is influenced by western culture (colonization and all that), including the Patois language, so his hero name is just Carapace as usual. His shirt is called a dashiki (I added a mini doodle bc his shield covered it lol) and sometimes they have hoods, which was good for his hero suit :) Dashikis also have a lot of beautiful designs on them a lot of the time, so in the color images i will add that, but for now the sketch looks plainer :) i’m going to try to make it look geometrical like a turtle’s shell but still with some cool designs!
