“     excuse me?     “     and it’s something between a scoff and a mocking laugh that madison releases as her brows curl together at the other. her tone is slurred, and so is her stance as she sloppily leans herself against the wall.     “     um... no. no. “     and this time it’s a laugh, head shaking before it presses against the wall.     “     i mean - no to giving you my car keys. and to me driving home. god, i’m not.. stupid. i have a ride from, uh..     “     unsteady hand lifts and fingers point into an off direction, eyes squinting as she searches past him.     “     i forgot his name. whatever, i’ll.. crash here. it’s fine. really.     “

gaze shifts up to the poorly strung mistletoe and a small laugh escapes her lips. “very smooth, bhandari.” holly j says with a teasing eye roll. she stands on her tip toes and plants a small kiss on sav’s lips. when she pulls away, she adds, "if you wanted me to kiss you, you could have just asked. there was no need to threaten me with bad luck.”

  a comfortable silence is soon interrupted by an abrupt groan from eli. always one for dramatics, he tosses his notebook away from him.

“that’s it, i’m finished.” the teenager proclaims, sporting a frown like a kicked puppy, “i’m never gonna write anything good ever again.”

drew had never been all that much of a guys guy, he much preferred the company of girls, and rarely found himself one on one with a guy that wasn’t dallas or his own brother. he’d never really considered why, maybe he was just such a ladies man that he never needed to have guys nights, or maybe he was just a bit egotistical, always finding reasons why hanging out with other guys might not be his thing. whatever the reason, he was only now realizing that he’d never hung out much with sav before lately, and even that was only on account of mutual friends of theirs. still, sav wasn’t half bad, even if they didn’t have all that much in common, and drew found himself trying to make an effort to get the know the guy better in a sincere way. “so you mean to tell me, you had no idea, the keke palmer was standing in front of you, basically asking you out?” he chuckled, as he sat back down, drink in hand, looking across the couch to sav with an incredulous expression, “some guys really do have all the luck...” he teased and shook his head, “you gotta tell me more stories, because that’s insane, dude.”
