Epic!!!!
I think one of the reasons I love this so much is because it's not the boss bitch rescues sad boi narrative despite having trappings of it - he's damaged as hell (the novel is very very explicit about the fact that despite their age difference being only a couple of years, it feels much more than that because he comes across as way younger in a lot of ways due to severe trauma not letting him have normal experience for his years) but he's not wimpy/weak/weepy/beautifully suffering. He's got a ton of thorns and snark and self sufficiency.
