head of state responses to various atrocities across the globe shouldn't be taken as a sign that they're "actually good" or anything like that. nixon was crying about the Biafran genocide and torturing Black people in the States. Israel was giving aid to both Secessionist Biafra and the genocidal UK- and Soviet-backed Nigeria government AND had a hand in the genocide against indigenous Mayas in Guatemala. like i really can't be impressed w a president or whoever saying "this is terrible" because they're always doing it to someone else.

October 12th, 1986 During the course of the war that ravaged the present-day South Eastern Nigeria, the Biafran Association of the Americas staged a mock funeral procession between the Sylvan Theatre and the State Department, Washington D. C. to protest the lack of American aid in Biafra.

A select number of Nigerians who were members of the association, other Nigerians and Americans joined the procession.
