These are artifacts from Daddy's service during the Second World War.

The long sack is his officially issued laundry bag. He used it throughout his assignments in Australia and on Biak, an island near New Guinea.

The photograph is labeled as having been taken in the HQ chapel during the memorial service for Pres. Franklin Roosevelt on April 15, 1946.

General Carter is seated next to the center aisle in the front row.

The man sitting at the left in the first row is Capt. Ralph Simeone, for whom Daddy was assigned to work in the Judge Advocate Corps. Ralph and Daddy visited frequently over the years after they returned to the U.S.
