🌹Lil update: starting next piece, I'll be recording my process and posting it to igtv! 🎉 . I've been SUPER reluctant to share speed paints because I tend to be all over the place-- make lots of mistakes, try layers and masks that don't always work, draw something for hours then delete it later...it's not the best look. This piece in particular was a bitch and a half because I had to stitch together 4 different reference photos, so the sketch part alone took hours longer than it should've OTL But dammit, I'm gonna post anyway because maybe that'll be entertaining and maybe--hopefully--will be reassuring to other artists who don't have a super streamlined process. Lord knows I get self conscious watching other people's speed paints and it seems like they never hit ctl z 😅 . Color theory mind fuck of the day: almost every "green" color is actually a super desaturated orange o_O I kept color picking the reference photo to be sure but yep. All browns and greys. 🤷‍♀️ . This piece was SO HARD you guys, especially around the girl's head/neck/shoulders. The model's hair in the reference pic covered up that whole area, so I had to figure that out from scratch OTL. But whatevs, I'm happy, it's done, I can die in peace. .
