lol, I mean technically I could just copy and paste something from Cardiac Therapy or Progress Reports, couldn’t I? But I won’t cheat like that...
Sooooo 3 sentences (LMFAO, right) from before Trainer! Bucky verse - Bucky gets a job at the Red Room:
After Doctor Zola’s final evaluation - stating that he didn’t think Bucky would be an appropriate candidate for a DPT program until he had matured enough that he could handle all of his patients professionally, Bucky hadn’t bothered with graduate school applications. As badly as he’d wanted to take Natasha’s advice of telling the creepy little bastard to fuck off with his opinions, Buck couldn’t help but worry that he was right... he couldn’t think of anything worse than going through the rigors of the application process, only to be turned down at the end.
(That was a lie. He could matriculate into a DPT program, only to get kicked out for the exact reasons Zola had warned him about, effectively ruining any chance that he would ever have at attaining a license. But Bucky really, really didn’t need that worry on his mind).
At the same time, he couldn’t bring himself to just take a year off... while he loved his family, the idea of moving back home with them was one he couldn’t begin to stomach, especially as much as he knew his Ma had been bragging about how well he’d done in his undergrad program and the places their James was sure to go. And besides that, if he was going to have a shot at overcoming his one shitty recommendation, he was going to need strong professional references; the volunteering bits would be easy enough to get, but actually working seemed like an entirely different can of worms.
And then, the week before graduation, the epiphany had finally hit him: Natasha and Sharon were both already set to get their personal training certificates at the end of the month - with their exercise science degrees that hadn’t even had to study for the course, they’d just walk in and ace the test and get a job at some local gym making stupid money developing work out plans for budding gym rats.
It wasn’t ideal by any means, but the certification was cheap and Bucky figured he could do anything for a few months.
