While at last on my way home after a long day full of responsibilities for three different jobs, I attempted to impress a woman in a car by showing off not only how I can bike with one hand in the air but also how that hand, like many others, has one finger that's longer than the rest! I excitedly shared this with her after she beeped her horn twice in my general direction as I was biking – in a HONK HONK pattern that, unless my Honkish is rustier than I believe, surely meant "OMG a BIKE LANE!! Isn't it so great that there's a BIKE LANE!" but maybe it meant "OOO cool fold-up bike!!!" – I appreciate the excitement but please know that car horns are LOUD and that maybe excitement (which I'm sure it was excitement and not unwarranted anger at someone properly biking in the bike-designated road space) could better be expressed with a different variety of horn: like this AWESOME PARTY HORN that my parents recently sent me in a care package!! It's shiny and doesn't deafen (and probably doesn't startle and enrage) bicyclists who are happily following traffic regulations and hoping that others do the same! AND comes in a variety of styles!!
