New Moon in Capricorn Ritual ✨
Who needs a reading? Here’s a cool Mercury Retrograde spread. Make sure that you refer to this spread if you want this spread to be used for your reading.
Eight of Wands
The Eight of Wands indicates that the struggles of the Seven of Wands have now all but cleared and you have the freedom and space to move forward with your plans and activities once again. The Eight of Wands contains a high level of energy and movement that propels you forward to reach your goals at a much faster pace than ever before. You can expect to be very busy, but this is one of those ‘good busy’ periods during which you are enthusiastic and energetic about the progress you are making.
The Eight of Wands encourages you to go with the flow; don’t resist it. Everything is moving very quickly right now, so make the most of this forward movement and rapid action to manifest your goals and dreams. Allow the energy of the Universe to flow through you and propel you closer to your goal. Trying to slow things down because you’re not ready or you’re fearful about the unknown will just create a wasted opportunity. Use the momentum instead to fuel positive change and create big results.
The Eight of Wands also invites you to be laser-focused with your intentions and actions. Get clear about what you want to manifest, then align all of your resources and energy to focus on that particular goal. Remove all distractions and devote yourself to the task with complete concentration, determination and will. This experience can be very productive, allowing you to accomplish a lot in short time.
With the Eight of Wands, you can look forward to the rapid completion of a project that is currently underway, but you can also expect to be occupied by something new and even more exciting and inspiring very soon. There is no stopping you right now as you are just bursting with energy and ideas, and you cannot wait to achieve one task in order to start another.
To maximise this energy, it is important to ensure that your activities are focused on your broader goals and that you are investing in the right things at the right time. Also, make sure that before you move to the next task your previous task is complete.
This card is a sign to ‘strike while the iron is hot.’ It is most definitely an action-oriented card that encourages you to move quickly to pursue the best opportunities available right now. There is no waiting around while the Eight of Wands is present so determine where your energy will be directed and get on with it! Often, the Eight of Wands suggests air travel. It is more likely to be a short-term or whirlwind trip, such as a business trip or holiday. You may even enjoy being part of a tour group that visits ten countries in as many days!

tarot deck: everyday tarot
Hey, so I’m new to tarot, and I haven’t really found a community yet, so I just wanted to put this out there somewhere in hopes that it might help someone else. It’s about Biddytarot’s new deck, the Everyday Tarot deck, and it’s part technical review and part personal story.
First off, the deck is... sticky. It came out of the box feeling like it was covered in some kind of resin (think leftover hair gel on your fingers). Other than that one point, I’m in love with these cards. The color is vibrant, the paper is a good weight, and the deck has a very substantial feel to it when you hold the whole thing in your hand. Compared to all the pros, the stickiness was a minor annoyance, and I already had some ideas on how to deal with it.
A tip for anyone also getting this deck brand new: take a bath. I laid all the cards out indevidually on and around my bathroom window to make sure they were all exposed to the steam from the hot water and good airflow at the same time (a trick I’ve already tried on an English Magic deck and had good results with, so I knew they’d be ok). After that, I moved them to my bedroom to air them out by my window and get the damp off them.
This is where the story part takes over. For the purpose of a review, long story short, steaming takes the goo right off them. (I’m also on mobile, so there’s no cut, sorry 😕)
My bedroom window happens to be right alongside my bed, so to air them a little more, I left the cards out on my bed for a few minutes while I scrambled to get ready to leave the house. As my Uber driver pulled in the driveway, I checked the cards again and noticed they were both dry and stickiness free (hooray!), so I piled them all up in a heap to take with me as I ran out the door.
At this point, I had a sudden alarming feeling that the deck was incomplete, and I was missing at least one card. I brushed it off as the usual panic I feel running out the door, as I’ve always been extremely ADHD and forget at least one item a day either at home or somewhere else. I didn’t have time to check, I’d sort them into suits and make sure I had everything once I got where I was going.
Fast forward to the end of the night, when I was returning home after indeed sorting suits and realizing I was indeed missing the Knight of Cups out of my brand new deck that had just been released. They had been on the market for less than three days, let alone in my hand, and I had already lost one. I immediately checked the pillow I had laid them on, my window sill, the entire surface of my bed, the floor around it, the space between the mattress and the wall facing the window, the bathroom window sill, the stairs, the driveway... I couldn’t find it anywhere, my Knight of Cups was gone and it was my own stupid fault for not taking better care of it. I called the Uber driver from before (to no avail; he didn’t find it) and resolved to scour the bus stop I had ridden to the next morning, but it was entirely possible that it had blown away or that someone had pocketed the strange card with the pretty picture on it without a second thought. There was a lost and found box at the bus company’s corporate office... but it was closed on weekends, and they close every day at the same time I get out of work during the week, so it was impossible to even check there. The card was gone.
Logically, at this point I believed the card was out in the dirt or someone else’s pocket, and I would never see it again, but my mind kept turning back to that point where I picked up the deck and knew something was missing. I couldn’t shake the feeling the card was still in the house. The next morning, still having this feeling, I crawled under my bed, to check if the card had slipped between the mattress and wall completely and ended up on the floor.
Nothing.
I had to concede. It just wasn’t possible for that card to be in this house. I’d just have to head out to the bus early and check the ground. It was time to give up. And yet... I checked the mattress one more time. I stuck my hand down deeper than I had wanted to before, afraid if the card WAS there, it’d just fall further and I’d never find it. I slid my hand out towards the foot of the bed, well away from where I had laid out the cards the day before. A thrill ran up my arm as I felt something stuck against the wall and slid my fingers up to pull out...
The Knight of Cups.
Moral of the story: there is definitely something to be said for trusting your intuition. If you haven’t already, I reccommend picking up a copy of the Everyday Tarot book as well, and reading more about it. It has been a fascinating read so far.
