Original Post (x)
so if bill possessing dipper = Bipper does bill + ford = Biford?
At the Lacienda
Grohl and Gwen are sitting inside the bar drinking their respective drinks. Grohl is drinking a coke and rum, while Gwen is drinking scotch. In the bar were a wide range of mercenaries from far and wide. Many of whom were not regulars in the area.
“Man there are so many of these other mercs here. I don’t even know half of these guys.” Biford is on the other side of the counter, with one eye darting around and focused on the main mercs in the room. “They’re all after that new bounty that Haines put out.”
Gwen gives a confused look. This was the first time she had heard of this bounty. Usually she is the first to know about this kind of stuff. “Really. For who?” Biford whips out the poster from behind the counter. “You two might actually recognize her.” To the gothorita’s surprise and to the tangrowth horror, the poster showed a familiar ally.
Wanted: Yumi. Species: Heracross. 13 million poke reward who can bring her in dead and intact.
Gwen is surprised. She figured Haines or Chung had gotten to her in the raids. Then again she had heard that despite being heavily injured they never found her body. So it makes since Haines and Chung would set a bounty on her just in case.
Grohl could not help but feel sorry for Yumi. He is honestly happy about Eri being gone, since she was nothing to him but a condescending and as these few months showed, treacherous, so he is not concerned with her death. But Yumi at least would always stand up for him and they at least worked well together. It breaks his heart that he may have to fight someone whom he considered a friend.
Gwen looks and notices Grohl sunken expression. “Grohl. I know you considered her some what of a friend. But you are going to have to accept that this was bound to happen. She was a bit too loyal to Eri and being loyal to her ended quite badly for all involved.” This didn’t change Grohl’s mind in the slightest. Gwen just sighs. “If you don’t want to participate in this, no one will shame you. Just don’t try to save her, otherwise you will have a whole line of mercs on your ass.”
“She’s quite right.” Grohl’s vines stand on his back the moment he heard that voice. He hopes that it isn't who he thinks it is. Heading towards the bar is a massive swampert. He stands at what Gwen assumed is at least a foot taller then the average swampert. Grohl begins to breathe heavily. Him. Of all people. Why was he here? Hasn’t he done enough to him in his life time? “If you try to do anything to help her, you are going to be in a world of hurt.” Grohl is shaking, even Biford picks up on this, feeling concerned for the tangrowth. Gwen was starting to feel worried as well. Grohl is a timid guy, but it has never gotten as bad as he was now.
The swampert sits in the chair next to Grohl. He notices Grohl is somewhat in a state of panic. It is good to see Grohl hasn't changed by much. At least to him. “But let’s not dwell on business. This is happy hour isn’t it!?” The swampert signals Biford over. “Can you get me a mudslide?” Biford just nods and goes into the mini fridge to pull out the irish cream and coffee liquor. “So Grohl. Whose your lady friend? I thought you were into bigger chicks anyway.” Gwen already thought this guy is being an asshole. And she deals with a lot of assholes. “My name is Gwen. And for the record we aren’t dating. Now piss off.”
The swampert raises his hands. The thing Gwen noticed is the metal digit on the thumb of his right hand. It is clearly artificial so what happened to cause him to lose that? “Now now. I didn’t intend to cause trouble. I just wanted to see my old buddy Grohl. Ain’t that right” As swampert slapped his right hand on his back, he built up an ice punch on the palm on his hand right behind he smacks it on the tangrowth’s back. Grohl jolts due to the extreme, burning, familiar cold.
Grohl. I do this because I want you to be a better gang member.
I don’t believe in lost causes. But I do think you need some hardening up.
Now why did you go and make me mad for?
You shouldn’t have made me look bad Grohl. You shouldn’t have made me look bad.
Grohl said nothing. He did not want to try to fight the mon who had spent a good decade tormenting him out of a still lingering fear. Biford hands him the mudslide, which he takes a big drink of.
Urami just gives a small yet confident smile. “Names Urami. I have not been here long. I’m here for the bounty on that Yumi chick. I was around here for some of the recent Johto Triad hits. I did so well that I was offered a spot as Chung’s enforcer. It was so good, I couldn't resist. Makin’ more money then when I just did merc hits alone, and I can still work free lance. Not even six months in this city and I’m making my way up!” He gives off a haughty laugh.
Gwen just stares in contempt while Grohl’s eyes were clearly in a mix of anger and fear. Gwen wants the swampert to piss off, so she figures the best way is her usual way: insecurities. “Cool cool. I did hear about a swampert that was described as Jaws, crosses with the Hulk, and a dash of Edward Scissor hands.” Urami’s grin shinks a little bit in that last part of the statement. Got him! Gwen smiles. “So how did you lose your thumb? Fingering accident? Car door? Car window? Chopping bananas and you missed?”
“Funny.” Urami slams the rest of the drink down and gets up from the chair. “I can see I picked you at a wrong time Grohl. I’ll be sure to talk to you some other time.” The gothorita and swampert just exchange eye contact as he whips out the money for the drink and throws it on the counter. He then exits the bar.
Grohl now felt worse then before. Now he has a crushing mix of sorrow, fear and anger coursing through his body.
OPP Arc Part 3: Weather Man Down
Weather was hanging out at Kenny’s house. Kenny had missed him a lot due to being involved with the war, so he wanted him to stay with him for the day. Weather and him were watching movies and just hanging out. It was a nice change of pace for Weather, especially since they were in the war in all.
Kenny was in the kitchen making some muffin for Weather, who was sitting in the living room lying on the couch watching a movie. Suddenly, the phone rang. Kenny went to pick it up.
"Hello?"
"Kenny! Are you ok?!" Biford was on the other line. He sounded very alarmed and was practically shouting.
"Uh. I’m fine. I’m here with Weather. Why what’s happened?"
"There are some mons attacking the city!"
Brittany entered the Lacienda. She was a tad bit nervous. What if Biford gets mad at her? What if attempts to open a dance studio fails? What if no one wants lessons? What if she sucks at dancing? All of these questions were storming in her head. She nervously approached the bibarel as he was exiting his office.
"Biford. Can I talk to you about something?" Brittany nervously twiddled her roses together. Biford could tell she was needing to get something off her chest. "Yeah. Step into my office." Both pokemon entered the office and sat in the chairs in the office.
"So what's on your mind?" Biford asked. He had an idea with what she was wanting to say, but none the less asked, concerned for her well being.
"I...I want to quit. It's nothing on you! It's just, Lenox and I got into a fight over our jobs. She wasn't comfortable with the men groping me and oodeling me, and to an extent I agree this." Brittany went quiet for a moment. "I know you do your best to stop it, but at the same time, I want to try to do more to feel like I am doing something with my life. I'm going to try to start a dance school for children.
Biford just nodded his head. "I can understand that. Just warned. There are a few things you should be aware of. Just starting a dance school out of the blue is something you can't do and expect it to succeed."
Brittany had never actually thought of that. The building would cost a lot of money and she didn't even have a house yet. "I-I never thought of that."
Biford just smiled. "At least you realized it now. I'd recommend starting small. Maybe give dance lessons in private. Start small and maybe work your way up, that way you know it is something you want to do. After all kids are a...mixed bag." Biford sort of chuckled at this notion. "Maybe one thing you could do is get another job as a side thing in case the dance lessons don't pay as much."
Brittany was becoming nervous as Biford spoke. These were all good points she had never thought of. What if she was a poor teacher? What if no one was interested? That also raised another question: where was she going to hold the lessons? She knew for certain she couldn't do it in Arcadium. Not if she wanted to maintain any consistent customers she would have to charge them the right rate. Too much, they wouldn't want lessons, if too little, she wouldn't be able to maintain a living.
Biford could tell she was nervous. To ease her tension he put his hand on her shoulder and gave a calm reassuring smile. "Even if it doesn't pan out, I'll gladly help you find a job if this doesn't pan out. Which remind me." He pulled out a check and began to write on it. "I believe there is a matter of you final payment."
Brittany looked at the check he handed- 800,000 poke!? This was completely unexpected. While he was never a cheap boss, he did always pay practically when it came to employees' salaries. Brittany put the check down for a second to give the bibarel a hug.
"Biford! I-I can't thank you enough! I'll do my best." With that she left the office.
Biford was surprisingly happy. Sure he was kind of sad to see her go, but in the end he was happy for Brittany.
Thin Crystal Line: Home Coming: Redux
"Hey Len. Welcome back!" Yumi said cheerfully, patting Len on the back. "It's honestly good to be back. I really couldn't wait for the war to be over." She just sighed as Biford filled her a glass. "Both sides honestly were frustrating to deal with. If they had just talked none of that would of happened."
Piko could not help but chuckle. "You know it is bad when criminals actually talk more to resolve a conflict then two leaders of a nation. No wonder Haines gets girl wood playing them like a orchestra."
"The thing is. Haines apparently attempted to assassinate this leader. Though She denies it." Yumi and Piko shot eachother a look. "Wow. If she actually tries to do her diplomatic treatment with this leader. Then she has balls the size of planets." Piko chimed in. Yumi chuckled. "Still. It's good you guys came out ok. Where is Weather though?"
"He stayed behind. He wanted to make sure certain things were ok. Hopefully he is ok and not doing anything irrational."
Both of the other female assassins just sighed. "Yeah. I'm there for you." Suddenly the head of the Kanto Triad, Chung the pinsir, tapped Len on the shoulder. "Can I speak to you please?"
Lenox actually felt a pit in her stomach. She knew she still had to pay off his debt to the Kanto Triad. She was really hoping to be able to come back home and not have to worry about any issues like money or work. However, in order not to make her "other landlord",so to speak. She followed him down to the seat he had set towards the back of the bar.
"So. Are you readjusting well?" Chung asked.
"Fine."
"Good. Want a drink?"
"No thank you." Lenox hated this mon. In particular, his false facade of a nice aloof pokemon, but start digging underneath, you see a selfish and evil mon.
"Listen. It's about the debt." Lenox began to feel worried. She was worried about if he was going to make her do something awful in order to pay off the debt. Pimping Brittany, killing innocents, or making her have sex with him. She didn't put it past him "Listen. I know I am halfway done paying off the debt but please I need more time."
"I'm actually going to wipe the debt." Lenox was stunned. She was not sure if she miss heard him, or if she was just lucky. "I'm sorry. What?"
"I'm doing to wipe the debt, on one condition." Of course. The one condition. It was probably something bad or something Len would never appr- "You need to listen to story time with Chung". Len was absolutely stunned, though his saracasm she could deal without. "I'll be glad to hear you out."
Chung poured a glass of bourbon. He drank out of the glass. "20 years ago, Arcadium was just a settling city for foreigners. I was just a teenager when this city was formed and believe me it was beautiful. Every kind of food from every kind of region. The street bands, the shops, all of them were amazing. But this little paradise was temporary, as the crime syndicates formed."
Len had never actually heard this story before. "And then your boss and Haines actually pulled a huge string of mob hits and reduced criminal activity, but made it so crime flowed through her. So in a way Haines became the curve. It's either you match up to her power, or you get out of this city." Chung finished off the glass. Slamming it onto the table. His face turned into a smirk(?) "I admit. The bosses in Kanto are surprised I am lasting here as long as I have. Then again, forming an alliance among the Hoenn Crime syndicates is easy when you have one giant enemy. I am probably just as powerful and even richer then Haines."
There is a brief moment of silence. "That's it. That's all I have to say story wise." Len actually was stunned, though this was more out of the point of the story. "Why would you tell me this?"
"I want to get one thing drilled into your head. I know you hate me. I have heard it around you hate me for being a, pardon me if I paraphrase: 'A vile leech, who is exploiting others and I would love to see him dead'." Chung chuckled. "Now words like that would call for snipers to be waiting for you at every waking hour to kill you, but I don't do that to you. You want to know why? Because you are easy to control."
Lenox just stared at Chung, with a mix of shock and anger. Controlled? What did he mean by this?
"I barely consider you a threat, for two reasons. For starts, you have several Achilles heals that I could cut." Chung turned his attention to where Brittany got dressed at. Lenox immediately knew what, or rather who he was referring to, and she just clenched her teeth. "But here is the big one: you are very complacent." Lenox paused. "I hear it from everyone, you always are one of the first to say 'oh you amoral psychopath, you exploit other. Or you are evil' well here is what I have to say to that. You are a hypocrite. What do you do for your main job?"
Lenox didn't say a word.
"You kill people and commit other sometimes criminal activities for money. And before you tell me, oh it's not the same thing, let me ask you. Do you consider the repercussions of your actions? On how they honestly have screwed people over or the things you have radically changed. Your coworkers at least don't let it bug them or chastise others for doing the same thing they do for their money. And the reason you stay in the business is simple: it's easy. You find killing easy and you know, you really have no other tallents outside of that, so you keep yourself in this line of work because it is the most easiest for you."
The hawlucha was floored by what the pinsir was saying. Was this true? Was she really this content in her life style. No! She doesn't enjoy killing. However, the part of her having no other talents was sort of true. OR rather, any talents that she could make money with. Maybe Maya was right to assume to worse from her. All she could do was stare down in disbelief.
"Len! Over here!" Brittany called out for Len. Len turned her attention to the flower pokemon. Chung just shooed her off. Lenox was still uneasy with what the pinsir just told her, but in the end, she put on her best smile she could and went to Brittany.
The New Girl
Brittany and Lenox entered the Lacienda. Brittany was working tonight for some rougher customers so Len came to work as bouncer, just to keep her and the other dancers safe. Biford was at the bar counter as usual, wiping a drink glass, but he seemed a bit, different tonight. He seemed a bit nervous.
“Hey Biford!” Len approached the counter, signaling the bidarrel. He just sighed, trying to put on some semblance of a smile.
“Oh hey there you two.”
“Um. Biford, sir. You look stressed out. Well, more than usual that is.” Brittany’s last statement was true. Biford was always stressed out, but even by tonight’s standards he was a tad nervous.
“Yes. I am, if I can be quite frank. We got a new girl, and I am extremely nervous about her.”
Brittany was quite stunned. A new dancer! Usually those with absolutely no shame, great courage, had no idea what they were getting into, or were generally desperate to get by. “Who is she” Brittany asked. Biford pointed at the main stage. As the new girl stepped out from curtains. She was a shiny bisharp, missing one shoulder plate for some reason. She seemed seductive and energetic, grinding against some of the male customers. For some reason she was missing a shoulder blade, which was an eye raiser for those there.
"Hm. What's her name?" Brittany asked, a bit wary of the new girl.
"Her name is Maylie. Loreli told me she was looking for something to do after she left some group of some kind. She didn't go into detail on what this group was, and neither did Maylie for that matter." Biford just sighed. "Honestly. I have no idea where Loreli finds people."
As if to make the whole moment worse. Nigel and Mac entered the club. "Well if it isn't the the bird and weed clump. I was wondering what the hell happened to you." Nigel sneered at Lenox "I was kind of hoping you would stay gone." Mac chuckled. "Yeah. Maybe then I could take care of her."
Len could only stare in anger at the lucario next to Nigel. She didn't even know who this guy was, and she already wanted to punch him. "The only thing you are going to need to take care of is your fucking teeth." Len winds up her arm to punch, only to be stopped by Brittany. Len just sighed. "Who are you anyway? And what happened to Brando and Motely?"
"They left." Nigel said trying to swiftly defuse the situation. "So where you guys anyway?"
"We were off fighting a war alongside a group of dragons."
"Please tell me they all died happily ever after." After Nigel made this comment Mac just looked over at him, confused as to why the sudden hatred of dragon types.
To make it slightly more awkward, or not given how the conversation's flow was going, Maylie approached the two pokemon. "Well hello there. You two look like you could use some... enjoyment." Maylie began to lick her lips shooting a glare at Nigel. Nigel goes pale, or rather washed out pink. He just backed away from the bisharp, not sure if she would kill him or was just messing with him, in order to kill him.
"Stay away from me!" He runs out of the bar, leaving everyone confused. Mac turned his attention back to the bisharp with a wide grin. "You know, I think could use some enjoyment." Mac stepped next to her wrapping his arm around her, walking to one of the private quarters.
The remaining three remaining pokemon were stunned. Someone who could scare off Nigel? Maybe it wasn't all that bad. Suddenly they could hear Mac let out some yelps of pain from the back.
"Ow ow. OW!" The last ow was higher then the others. Len just smiled.
"I like her. She's a keeper." Biford just nodded giving a sinister grin.
(Ramndark the mod of ask-the-gerds has given me control of Maylie the Bisharp. She will appear as a supporting cast member of the story.)
