Insects diversified rapidly during the Permian, bringing about the early ancestors of odonates (dragonflies and damselflies) as well as scorpionflies and beetles.
Workin on a painting based on Cristobal Rojas' "The Misery" but instead of a tragic man and his dying wife, its our babygirl kafka with his pet bed bug.
I want a cat sized carpenter bee named Penelope.
She would be my best friend.
We’d cause so much damage to cybertrucks.
Saw a really big beetle today. It was like the size of my palm. It was awesome. I’ve never seen a beetle this big in the UK. I obviously got down to take some photos - see below - and this guy was walking by and was like “are … you ok?” And I was like “yes I’m fine, there’s just a massive beetle and I wanted to look at it” and he literally gave me the strangest look like I was the weirdest person in the world and I was like yeah I guess this is weirdo behaviour. If it helps it was also 11pm and I was like muttering about how big the beetle was with glee so like yeah…
(Anyway - massive beetle below the cut. i’m aware some people don’t like bugs so I hid it but it’s cool af)
