appeasing a parasitoid wasp
so many parasitoid insect species have evolved to lay their eggs inside other insect's eggs, or injected into the bodies of grubs, or to drill through the carapace of adults... i think if they were giant they'd be very happy to see how soft and warm humans are in comparison. no hard carapace, no wings to fly away with, just soft skin, so easy to grip with its barbed limbs and mandibles, and with humans having only two eyes and two legs, they can't even see the giant bug sneaking up or escape until its too late. a perfect host.
sure, they'd definitely kill a lot of humans. its what they evolved for, stabbing blindly into anything softer than concrete. but if one of them, with its instinct of trying to find your vulnerable flesh between layers of useless clothing, accidentally slides its enormous, needle-like ovipositor right down your pants... well then maybe if you're Very Careful and give it exactly what it wants, show it a nice warm soft hole for all its many eggs, it won't be sadly forced to create new holes. you'd have to be quick though, you'd have to be eager to show it just how good of a host you can be. and as a reward... you'd still get filled with a massive clutch of parasitic eggs, greedy for everything your body has to offer, and able to take anything you won't give willingly, with nothing you can do about it for days or weeks, until the hatched grubs force their way out of your ruined hole.
hey, its a better ending than most hosts have. but if another one of those wasps sees you, lets hope you're ready for round two, and can act just as eager again! after all, your life depends on it!
