Promotional Alien Matchbook 1979.
Aliens vs Predator
ALIEN (1979): In space, no one can hear you scream….
The classic sci-fi/horror film ALIEN was released in theaters, 46 years ago….
I ❤️ this film. And I ❤️ the OG ALIEN (AKA The ALIEN AKA The Biomechanical ALIEN AKA HR Giger's ALIEN AKA The Drone ALIEN AKA The Eighth Passenger AKA The Starbeast AKA Kane's Son).
…Nothing beats the Original…
Dubious creature
I really liked Romulus
some of my favourite panels from alien: the illustrated story.
i cant get them out of my head
Yknow, I know some people have been complaining about how bulky the bodysuits looked for Alien Earth, but if you compare it to the timeline— it actually makes sense
Comparing the Praetomorph to Big Chap, they are almost the perfect example of the in between.
The jump in anatomy here isn’t too different, but the most noticeable features are:
- Praetomorph is visibly skinnier.
- Praetomorph has individual fingers, Big Chap has conjoined.
- Praetomorph has no piping (???) around shoulders.
- Praetomorph has a generally more human structure (bony and more flesh based.)
Then, we have these:
it’s pretty much the PERFECT in between!
Piping is further developed.
Very neutral structure. Still has some fleshy looking bits.
Box-y structure much like the Praetomorph.
Head lower down than Praetomorph but not quite reaching Big Chap height.
I can’t find a good photo of the hands, but the hands are also consistent and are merged just like Chaps!
This is just some things I noticed. None of it was probably intentional, but I thought it fit well into the timeline! The only issues is that the Alien Earth Xenomorph IS Digitigrade instead of Plantigrade (walking on toes instead of heel), which the Praetomorph does. But it’s a weird evolution if they later go BACK to digitigrade. It is more of a problem with Big Chap specifically though (which honestly doesn’t mean anything because it was made in 1979) It could imply rapid evolutionary processes or multiple subspecies if we want to dive THAT far in, but I’m not the expert on evolution here so… it’s just some things I noticed and wanted to say!
