Life Update:
I am a parent of two now
One thing to know about me: I’ll watch a documentary about nearly anything. I just like learning stuff. (I’ve said before I’m basically a bunch of random factoids stacked one on top of the other under a trench coat.) But, give me a documentary about ocean life and I’m so there. I don’t even mind if I’m not actively learning new things. Just. Give me the critters.
Anyway, I discovered PBS’ Big Pacific on Prime yesterday and I’m so happy. I would say about 80% of the first episode was stuff I already knew (which is fine!). BUT. I learned about Glass Sponge Reefs. Since they build on top of their dead predecessors, some of these reefs are many stories tall and thousands of years old. And, I love them. Just down there in the dark doing their thing.
Seriously Big Pacific is fantastic they have an entire 6 min segment that is just lizards judging you in silence.

A yellow-eyed penguin. According to a documentary I was watching, these guys are found in New Zealand, the least sociable, and prefer nesting mostly in forests rather than by the ocean.

I’m watching this nature show called Big Pacific, and these two penguin scenes play back to back.

Big Pacific – Welcome To The Party Format: CD Label: Independent Release: 2020
Canadian blues-rock band Big Pacific formed in 2015 and are a very diverse group of seasoned musicians that blend to form a tight dynamic live performance. Their new release ‘Welcome To The Party’ is the culmination of years of woodshedding songs in rehearsals and then polishing them in front of live audiences.
