Alongside the Union Pacific's famous 4-8-4's, Challengers and Big Boys, the railroad also operated (88) 4-12-2 '9000' class locomotives - all built by ALCO between 1926 and 1930. Here's one of them along the road's Overland Route, no. 9083 on a freight run at Big Spring, Nebraska 1952.

Starting with 4 women who wanted to spread a message of inclusivity & love, 4 women who wanted to bring their town together, not divide them or put them in boxes. 4 women who have a voice. 4 women who are the future. ⁣

I’m proud of be one of those 4 women. It’s taken a lot going door to door, reaching out to the community, speaking with local business owners, asking for donations and sponsorships. It’s taken a lot of time & hard work to bring this together. But we did it. ⁣

We’re having our voice heard. We’re bringing people together. We’re tipping our hat at #SWCID for the largely underrepresented deaf community. Our town needs love and togetherness right now. So we’re creating it. ⁣

And it feels so damn good. ⁣

My hometown.

This is where I thought most of my albums and cassette tapes when I was younger.

I became friends with the owner's daughter who is a few years younger than me she is my friend Margo whom I talk and post about a lot on here especially every July 4th when it is the anniversary of her death.

I think it has been almost 25 years since she died now but it feels like yesterday she was one of the best friends I ever had.

She worked in her dad's shop and I worked in my dad's shop and we just had this Bond and we fit more living in more Good Times into the four years we had together and some people do in an entire lifetime

This was her father's store.
