You don’t get to say who should and shouldn’t write just because you study writing and ‘it’s your life’ what a way to make people who do write for fun or for any other reason feel down about them, their writing and their talent. I have been writing online for 6 years now and I have never seen such a post. Writing isn’t about the notes or any thing as such. Yes it’s nice to have recognised but not everyone is in it for that. It’s really disappointing that a big writer would say that.
look, i get that, and i don't give myself credit to decide who should and who shouldn't write because of my background. if people write for fun, that's great. a lot of people i know write for fun. honestly, if people want to write bc it's popular, whatever. the only reason i'm bothered bc i've seen too many people post things like "i don't feel good about my writing anymore" when they don't get a lot of recognition or "maybe i shouldn't have written anything" and whatever.
my point wasn't against people who are starting out writing. it wasn't about "bad writers". it was about the fact that i've seen people feel bad because they're not writing for the fandom. and that's not how it should be.
