Hey, I'm a fan of your livetweeted riffs on the animes you watch, do you have any advice for someone that may also be intersted in doing something like that for his Tumblr page? Also, what program do you use for the text you put in for riffing the ENG dubs?
That’s cool that you want to start your own liveblog! I wish I had some divine wisdom to impart to you, but have you SEEN what a disaster this blog is? I would just tell you to remember that people want to hear your personal perspective. Pick material that you’re enthusiastic about! Talk about the themes that interest you! Your personality and expertise is what people follow you for, not just a holistic overview of the content. (Well, maybe. I actually have no idea why people follow me.)
On a technical level, if you’re using Tumblr as your main platform, the XKit extension is a must. It will keep all your tags organized and archived neatly so anyone can join in your liveblog easily! For subtitling, I take a screenshot on Mac and then open that image with Preview to edit the text, but there’s tons of programs and websites that can accomplish the same thing, probably even better. Also, for more popular media, I would check sites like opensubtitles.org which have subtitle files you can add to a downloaded movie.
Good luck, and let me know if you have anything else to ask!
