I'd Rather Be with ?
Alright, Tosh came through yesterday morning with the following 3 videos: Are you kidding me?!?! The Holy Trinity of Bump! WOOOOOO!!!!! Wave your hands in the air and say uhhhhhh from the gut! Not going to go through these songs and tell you why they're awesome, cause you already know (in a whisper: go to 3:20 on the Screw track and let it run for a sec...can't resist). I'm also not going to talk about the way these three artists are communicating with each other, implicating history with their narrative. Much more practical matters press us: What is the ideal order to experience these songs/which should come first on eliotwinder.blogspot.com? A little more from Tosh: me: think the oldest one or the newest should be on top? Toshio: not sure maybe the middle one first me: i think backwards haha Toshio: most notable me: middle one is the most famous yeah Toshio: is prob the tupac True enough. So first things first. What am I trying to accomplish. First of all, I am definitely not taking ethics into account. I don't mess with lines of reasoning that because Bootsy did it first, he deserves to be on top. While he did it first, he did not do screw it up, and he definitely didn't tear it up as cold as Tupac. Instead, my goals are to a) make for the most interesting and enjoyable experience for the listener (although it's easy to play with hole cards like these) and b) get them to spend as much time on eliotwinder.blogspot.com as possible. Honestly, I have no idea. I went with the order Tosh sent them, which I assume follows the way he found them, which is probably a fun story in itself. For me, right now I think the most effective order would be Screw, Bootsy, Tupac. Not only will a slowed up track like that will perk my ears and draw my interest every time, but I already know it's a sample from something I'll be able to find without too much digging. I gotta say at this point that I don't think my musical ADD would last all the way through the Tupac, since I've already heard it. But that's me. Any thoughts on preferred order? Later in the afternoon, Tosh told me that I better add this if I want to be comprehensive:
BigCease
Ragnarok 2
