Couch to 5K
So I'm starting back up my Couch to 5K program. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml After battling some shin splints and a crazy work schedule, I need to start making time for me again and work towards accomplishing my goal of running a 5K. June 15th, I'll walk a 5K, just to get the feel of it. It's the Biggest Loser Run/Walk series http://biggestloserrunwalk.com/Rockford-Illinois-5K-15K-KidsRace-2013 And....they just announced that they added another 5K in Chicago on August 4th http://biggestloserrunwalk.com/Chicago_IL-5K-15K-KidsRace-2013 I think I'll try to run that one...or at least run for a couple minutes and a walk a couple until I finish. So today I decided to go back to Blackwell Forest Preserve and do my running on a trail and then go over to the hill and hike up it. Great workout...not as great as hiking the mountains in Malibu, but still good. It feels so good to be working at it again. I know that I sometimes try really hard to find an excuse to not workout, but when it's done I feel so great and accomplished! I have to remember and learn how to hold on to that feeling.
