The Subways - Influencer Killed The Rock Star
Indie rock industrial complex might not be the most appropriate term for what I tried to elucidate in my posts, because the phrase seems like a weird tautology, though that's not true. The syntagm – someone more intelligent than me should write about this – suggest all the indie musicians follow a set of rules in their careers, though you can find some outliers, I am willing to admit this. However, one other thing indie rock also has is an incredible pressure being put on the players. The scene favours the bold, but some break down over this. Mind you, I'm not suggesting The Subways – you saw the link – have this issue, they still concert. Still, they haven't really done an LP of original material for a while and one asks oneself what is happening there.
