Sorry to sound like a creep but you were talking about url and when I saw that you not only where drmarymalone but you were an in the flesh fan i got so overxcited!!! Like not only my favourite book series but my fav tv series. Mary Malone is one of the best female literary characters; actually pretty much all the female characters are tbh. Like they are so diverse and complicated but can also be sweet and lovley? and its not all about fighting? why isnt more popular??

i especially love how, even though mary is a former nun whos rejected her faith and stuff shes not suddenly turned into a hardcore atheist who thinks the idea god could ever have existed it completely ridiculous?? like, for example she feels so alone and insecure once she gives up her faith; 

"Do you miss God?" asked Will.

"Yes," Mary said, "terribly. And I still do. And what I miss most is the sense of being connected to the whole of the universe. I used to feel I was connected to God like that, and because he was there, I was connected to the whole of his creation. But if he’s not there, then…"

… and it was plain that everything was throbbing with purpose and meaning, but she was cut off from it. And it was impossible to find a connection, because there was no God.

she felt so cut off from everything, like she didnt belong anywhere at all because she wasn’t connected to anything anymore. i especially like the subtle reference to the fall of lucifer here— mary is the serpent in the garden of eden, meant to tempt lyra (eve) and will (adam) into becoming young adults, into allowing dust to gather once again and letting people have free will. mary is lucifer, cast out of heaven for loving god too much who has no idea what to do anymore— because without god, what is left for her? what does she have to connect her to the universe?

OKAY THATS ENOUGH RAMBLING i could go on and on about the other ladies too but YEAH. dr mary malone is my everything

Hey I saw your post about in the flesh (which is of course one of my favourite shows) and you were saying how much you thought maxine was interesting and how she was well acted. You might want to check out something else she was in called the body farm which was on the bbc a few years ago. Its very gruesome but the characters are all great and the premise is very good though sadly its only one season. Any one love the blog and I'm defently following you bc beautiful in the flesh. xx

Hey, I would just like to recommend a musician to you bc I think you would like him and I love sharing music with people who I think are cuttees. He's from London and I've met him before and he's so lovely and would be pretty much your ideal man from what I've seen from your lists of people you would like. His music is beautiful, soulful and lyrical; Check out Kwabs Perfect Ruin (Thats my fav song by him) xx

Damnit someone already mentioned it sorry. You might also like breakfast on pluto, it's a story of an Irish Transwoman and her life during the troubles and her move to London. And a personal favourite of mine is Billy Elliot which you might like because it's from the perspective of a 12 year old

The first one has a cis man as a trans woman.

But Billy Elliot is good.
