Animated three-dimensional mapping of population growth in a few dozen of the world's largest urban agglomerations. This is an early product of a continuing project by a pair of Yale University architects to conceptualize and visualize our rapidly urbanizing world. While the project is described in somewhat monolithic fashion—imagine the whole world to be one giant super city—I suspect that, like this video, its value will be in fostering a multitude of views of urban Earth, at a variety of scales, which will reward repeated viewing.
