the thing is everything is statistics. There are way too many people for blanket statements to hold water. If something applies to, for example, 99.99% of women, that’s more than 400,000 women doesn’t apply to. 8 billion people on earth, and that’s rising because even as countless people in developed countries finally realize they don’t need to have kids, people in developing countries are finally able to start large families comfortably for the first time.

Latvia’s gap is partly linked to life expectancy. Official Latvian statistics say women lived about 80.4 years in 2023, while men lived about 70.4 years, leaving a 9–10 year gap in recent years.
World Population Day
On July 11, World Population Day is observed to raise awareness about global population issues. With the global population growing rapidly, this day serves as a reminder to tackle critical issues such as family planning, gender equality, poverty, and maternal health. It’s also a day to discuss challenges like unemployment, overpopulation, and the impact of population growth on the planet.
