I’ll be moderating this panel at @bindercon this weekend on Saturday, November 7th at 11:30am in Rose Auditorium. Panelists include Stephanie Foo (This American Life, NPR), Ann Heppermann (Serendipity podcast), and Manoush Zomorodi (WNYC’s Note to Self).
Panel Description: The success of Serial has drawn a lot of attention to the possibilities of podcasting, and the diverse voices we might be missing on air. How can writers take advantage of this golden moment for audio storytelling and reporting? From writing scripts for polished series like This American Life to penning narratives for new school radio dramas like Welcome to Nightvale, there’s plenty of work to be done – even if you’d never dream of putting your own voice on the air. Join our accomplished panelists, from established producers to indie go-getters, as they discuss what it takes to break into the brave new world of podcasting as a writer – and what they wish they’d known before they’d gotten their start.
If you’re going to BinderCon do stop by! There’s also a Podcasting workshop at 12:45pm, same day if you’d like to get more hands-on info!
