Recovering (Wattpad) deleted fic

Alright, kids. First lesson, DON'T use Wattpad, it sucks! Just kidding not really though!

Anyway, were you unfortunate enough to lose a fic and don't want all your work to be for nothing? Don't be sad, there's still hope for you.

The first thing you gotta do is set up an AO3 account, your stuff will be safe there! Go ahead, I'll wait.

But for real, AO3 is the safe place for fics, you can do Tumblr too but don't forget to make regular exports of your blog!

So...

Since Google sucks too, Bing will be your friend this time! Open bing.com and search for the title of your fic with wattpad in the search bar (if the title is not specific enough, add your username, the ship, etc.).

Once you know how to find your fic, you'll have to search each chapter separately. Just add chapter 1, 2,3... after the keywords that worked out.

So, you have your chapter's link in the search results. Great! Your not gonna need it. What you need is the tiny little arrow beside the URL of the chapter and click on cached.

You arrived at a saved version of the page so there's not much you can do other than make a screenshot. So go ahead and do that! (Zoom out so more fits into one shot)

Once you have all of the fic (or at least most of it hopefully) and you don't wanna type in all that again, you can use an online OCR like onlineocr.net to convert your screenshots to text. (It's probably not gonna be perfect so check it for mistakes)

And I guess that's it. Upload your stuff on AO3 or tumblr or a safe cloud drive.

You can try waybackmachine too but not everything is up there :(
