Since Joey is perfect bendy in your au does that mean he's ink bendy in the studio?
The Ink Demon and Joey Drew are not the same person. They’re different entities altogether and share just a little fraction of soul that was necessary to create a fully animated ink creature.
If you want to get technical about it, Binky is basically Joey’s bastard child. The one he wants nothing to do with and actively keeps locked away and isolated from anyone but the Ink Entity (which has shown Binky more compassion than any human ever did) because he’s absolutely disgusted with failure.
Can I hug binky because the poor baby deserved so much better than what Joey put him through?
He might hesitate a bit because he's shy, but yeah! He's finding that he enjoys hugs.
Since your ink demon has a name, does the entity thing also get one?
Joey called them the Rorschach. Highly appropriate since usually the Ink Entity looks like moving inky splatters and plumes that take the shape of others they've consumed.

Unfortunately the ink’s properties make the Ink People unnerving to animals in general. It took ages for Wally to find the right dog for Norman, and Henry’s own dog was scared of him for a while when he came back. They can endear themselves to animals however, since they weren’t always made of ink.
Binky is just naturally unsettling to them since he was completely born of the ink. He’s not a natural being and they can sense it.
