#2 – Binta

Most of what I remembered from this cycle has stood true during these initial rankings, but Binta is the one surprise. She stuck out as overrated for me during my initial watch, but here she is almost grabbing her second first call-out. Binta is back to giving us stoic strength, and doing it flawlessly. Her face looks incredible, and there is conviction in her pose. It is a very strong showing. What stops it topping this list is actually the reason she got her topped the crowd surfing shoot; the fashion. Because her arm is right across the jacket, I just feel wrong putting it ahead of Cody.

#9: Binta’s Boxing Photoshoot

Though the concept wasn’t necessarily so fashion-oriented, this photo really came out looking like a fashion ad to me, and I really commend Binta for producing this shot. The simplicity in her posing with the ball works for the creative, but also keeps it from being the center of focus of the shot, leaving room for the clothes to shine. Her expression is also wonderfully masculine and tough-looking, which works really well for me. She’s posing with a supermodel, and I honestly think she managed to show her up.
