Been so busy that I haven't even thought about updating! Oopsie!

Over winter break, I reviewed all the chapters of chemistry that I took exactly 1 year ago (250 pages in my textbook, and ~50 pages of notes on Google docs).

I was very productive over the last 2 months, especially since winter quarter started. I have had an exam every week of the quarter so far! Not ideal! But this is just what it's like being in STEM.

I still need to make a plan to prep for my SAT in mid-march, and register for the ACT. And to begin studying for the DMV licensing exam. Busy, busy, busy...

Happy Wednesday

today i am registering for classes, one step closer to becoming a doctor but also living my dream life

in school, working part time, in my own apartment, just doing what i gotta do each day.

i have to apply to so many apartments as well & follow up

some days i wish the apartment would just fall into my lap but life doesn’t work like that.

i am really excited for school though, im starting as a freshman & doing asynchronous classes.. except for any science classes because i am a biology major so i need to be front and center for that

tbh today is the first day of classes so im not even sure what classes are available BUT im just happy to be learning and back at it. before i know i will be graduating with my biology degree.

and after two years ill be a teacher or working in a dermatology office. things are looking up. im proud of myself for never givng up.

so send me some love and encouragement for this semester. imma fckn need it.

as someone who read project hail mary in sophomore year of high school, college freshman me ADORED the movie. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

i absolutely love grace’s arc. old grace would have went back to earth instead of saving rocky, and i like the timing of the flashback of grace being forced to go on the mission. old grace would’ve put himself first, but new grace put his friend first.

the beatles’ “two of us” playing while grace saves rocky also foreshadows the fact that grace’s home isn’t earth, but it’s erid. “we’re on our way home” is sung as the hail mary flies back to rocky. without background context, you might’ve thought grace was going back to earth with this song playing in the background, but he’s going HOME, to erid, where he truly belongs.

i also love how rocky’s mate’s gender is never specified. “you have a mate? what’s THEIR name?” made my gay heart so happy. and even though adrian is a reference to the rocky movies, it is still a gender neutral name. i love the ambiguity of rocky and adrian’s relationship. love is love!

one complaint though, THEY DIDN’T CENTER THE TUBES IN THE CENTRIFUGE!!!!!
