Zoids Genesis GB-007 ♛ Bio Raptor Gui
The mini Chrome Overlord is here!
I.. have had this one done for a few months now but never went and got photos of it (due to multiple personal issues), and given it’s finally warm and there’s light when I get home from work I got some shots tonight.
This little Bio Raptor Gui I snagged off of Y!J with @kyuofcosmic / @technofortomcats in a shared box, and I decided to make her match the lovely anime-accurate hel armour chromed Bio Raptor that Kyu did. Chroming that tiny armour, especially the wings with their crevices, was not fun in the slightest -- especially since the plate enamel is so thin that even masking only protects so much of the parts you don’t want chromed.
The wing tips were all shellac treated with a stunning metallic blue, and the claws are all done with a spackled rich gold. Not much else was done to the body as the base blue is very nice and doing the wings made the body have a nice contrast overall.
It’s such a tiny kit but I really love it.

Oh bio raptor. You little rapscallion you. I decided to chrome brush bio raptors armour, since in the anime, they are usually rendered very chrome like. Everything was going along just fine..
until I got to the neck. I broke it, namely because I had a mini-stroke in the midst of modelling. I’m ok, I just got frightened and with no control over my motor skills, I went crunch and broke what was in my hands at the time. I fixed it but I was put off from working on this, mostly due to feeling bad whenever I picked up the sprues to work on it. So a tiny kit that should have taken 2 days ended up taking 2 weeks. ugh.
I got some encouragement from my carers/parents and kept going; the end results is something worthy of sitting in the war rig, all ‘shiny and chrome’.
The kit itself is pretty simple and clever in how its jointed, allowing a good range of movement despite the small number of articulation points.
The Liger in the photos is the Blu Ray version of the ZA Murasame Liger [need to take photos of that too] and last shot is a size comparison between the bio raptor and the bio mega raptor.
