its so cool how much variety there is in the bio field but i also hope that nobody hears me say im a bio major and thinks im a 🧫🧬🧪🦠biologist or a 🐶🐿🐾🐅 biologist or a🐟🪸🦐🦑 biologist and never a 🥼🩺🩻🩸 biologist. i could accept being misunderstood to be a 🦎🐸🐢🐊 biologist or even a 🐌🪱🐚🐛 biologist and i might even be seen as a 🐝🦋🐞🌸 biologist but TRUTHFULLY i am a 🌿🪲🕷🍀 biologist

i’m so glad i ever decided to take biology as my major subject because it’s like i’m laying in bed and it’s 2 am as a swift thought pops in my head and i rush to google it. i’m very curious most times ah.

meet Burai’s mom; Sameko! “same” literally means “shark” and it’s not her real name. she moved to Japan when she was quite young and used this name to assimilate. she’s fully Chinese but i don’t know what her real name would be

her Quirk gives her the abilities/physical characteristics of a lemon shark. while she can breathe underwater, she’s actually not a very good swimmer. sharks are capable of electroreception, which is partly where Burai gets his Quirk from!

In active electrolocation, the animal senses its surrounding environment by generating electric fields and detecting distortions in these fields using electroreceptor organs. This electric field is generated by means of a specialised electric organ consisting of modified muscle or nerves.    

he didn’t inherit any of her more shark-like features, aside from his sharp teeth. i’ll be designing and revealing his father+Quirk later, but Burai doesn’t see him very often since his parents split up. he’s lived alone with his mom since he was four years old. she works as a business manager at Selkie’s agency.

Burai’s relationship with his mom is strained, to say the least. she does take good care of him, especially regarding his physical disability, but can’t understand his mental struggles. she’s very critical of him and most of the things he does. while she thinks being a Hero is a respectable career, she doesn’t fully believe Burai will be able to achieve this and reminds him of it often. 

for the majority of his life, she decided everything for him and gave him little choice in the matter. attending U.A. was his first chance to break away from her and learn to be his own person. she’s aware of his gender identity, but ignores it mostly and still deadnames him. she also really hates his current haircut/colour.
