#biol 234

I need some advice with BIOL 234 vs. BIOL 233 (the online version). Which one would you suggest? I heard 233 is a bit easier but I'm not sure as I've never taken an online course ever before.

Sorry, I know nothing about BIOL 233, and I don’t think many people will either; I think it’s a new course for this year. BIOL 233 definitely sounds a little more interesting though. However, I’m a little iffy about the prof for that course; I had her for 234 and although she was super passionate about the subject, the testing was kinda eh and I know a lot of my classmates felt the same way.

Which one would you say is easier? Biol 234 or biol 260?

BIOL 260 because it’s mostly pure memorization.

Nope, they’re basically places where you work on assignments and go over problems.

I recall you saying that you focused on genetics in you bio degree, I was wondering how did you find bio 234? Did you do well on it? I thought it was a lot of work, but it was interesting however I did pretty badly in it. I was wondering if you went into genetics after doing well in bio 234?

I actually really liked Biol 234 haha, I managed an A-, I’ve always liked genetics, ever since high school.

what's the courseload like for bio 234? are there any papers?

When I took it, we had two midterms, a final, and weekly tutorial assignments.

Do you know of any resources for bill 234 tutors?

I'm not entirely sure what your question is, are you asking for resources for Biol 234 tutors (which I can't help you with because tutors have their own resources...) or are you asking for places with Biol 234 tutors?

or talking to your prof (Biol 234 tends to have a lot of resources and the prof will know where you can get more help).

could you get away with using an older edition textbook for biol 230? and biol 234 for that matter?

I used the first edition for Biol 230 and it was fine, but that was 2 years ago, I don’t know if they’ve changed things so that you can only use the second edition. Biol 234 can get a little tricky when it comes to using the older edition because the assignments are usually based on questions from the textbook and they can vary from edition to edition.

Hello :) So far, for many of my midterms and in-class essays we've been allowed cheat sheets and notes. I'm wondering if that is just something to help 1st years adjust, or if profs continue to allow that as you get to the upper-level courses. Thanks for answering. Your blog has helped me so much so far !

Mmm….Biol 200 and 260 let us use cheat sheets, Biol 234 was open notes, as was Biol 361. I haven’t had any open-notes/cheat sheets in a while though.
