the memo that masquerades as public health and safety says the current lvl of dogshit chemicals in the air is fine for "most people." even if tht were true how easy it is for ppl to just place themselves in the "most people" category. eugenics 2024
Tbh only now getting an emergency alert is kinda concerning. This alert should have gone out asap when it was happening. 😔
We're still under lock down and the latest update is more road closures. Aka, they're still closed from yesterday. I got a call from where I was supposed to work and their building is closed today. If I don't get a call by end of day, I should prepare/expect to go to work tomorrow. Which I'm hopeful of. but you never know.
A relative went outside briefly at their home. About 20 minutes from me and the plant that caught fire. They said it smelt worse than a swimming pool.
I haven't gone outside yet today. I opened the door to pour out the water bucket from my broken sink while holding a squirming cat who just wants to be outside. It took less than 3 minutes so it wasn't long enough for me to try focusing on any smells.
I am safe. My cat is safe. My hubby is safe. Though he still has to go to work because he works an hour and a half from here. I hope everyone is staying safe, be it the hurricane, the chem plant fire, and everywhere else.
