The fucked up thing is that sleeping in your socks draws out the rest particles osmotically through your skin, meaning that your awakening glands aren't able to open their gated ion channels and allow in the awakening fluids. In turn, this leads to a build up of fatigueins in your tissues without anything to counteract them, leading to sleepidative damage.
