Kinda cowardly of DE to be so shy about presenting the warframe-ness of the protoframes. They're basically biomechas. And yet, outside of combat, their anatomy is still too functionally human imo. Even the most infested among them amounts to a prehensile tongue, which is cool! I love that kind of body horror. But they could've gone way further. Like deadass, we gotta get freakier with it.
I wanna know in great obsessive detail how their fucked up bodies work. Are parts of their skin considered a carapace and thus could they shift to reveal a more sensitive layer? Are their genitals retractable? What kind of fluids would they leak? Do they even sweat, or is their temperature regulated by coolant tubes fused within their sinew? We know they can still bleed from bullet wounds so their skin isn't sword-steel like regular warframes, possibly more akin to shark skin.
Let me hear the low thrum of their internal systems when they're excited, the light of their emissives pulsing from emotion, how each of their parts whir and click together or whatever inhuman noises they'd make. These are hybrid fusions of flesh and machine, they should feel tactile. Maybe each protoframe carries a distinct frequency you can only hear if you lay your head upon their chest. Maybe Amir sounds like those idle hard drives reading data, Quincy has the deep purr of a diesel generator, while Eleanor emits the very faint clicks of a geiger counter.
Give me a Drifter (who has spent some time learning about all the quirks of each frame from Operator) interested in exploring each other's bodies routine maintenance. They only just recently learned they had a Parazon installed in their wrists, what other ports, slots and switches would they have? How would certain mods affect their hormones? I wanna know what makes em tick. Do you see my vision??
