so there's drama about all the poon in the bonkles tag? wowo, what a suprise!! To those of you producing or consuming this art, this backlash is to be expected. Ever heard people say "oh, there goes my childhood!" before? That is exactly what is going on here. People will always react negatively when someone comes along and sexualises their hobby, no matter what it is. I'm totes cool with you guys doing this (even if I don't like porn of Bionicle myself) but acting like you're entitled to immediate acceptance is a little absurd. It's never happened before - even most Bronies don't like the fact that there's adult content coming out of their community - and it won't happen here. But all the same, have fun! What you're doing is totally fine - not up everybody's alley sure, but whatever. If that's your thing, that's your thing! To those of you complaining that there's adult art of Bionicle, are you not surprised? For a lot of us, Bionicle has been around us for most of out adolescence - indeed, the time in which our sexuality is fully realised, and certain preferences form. Think about Roodaka for example - she's sultry, buxom, and elegant in her motions, and has a soothing voice. Apply those traits to a human lady, and most would go "oh look she pretty". Roodaka isn't human, but she still holds these traits. Is it really that surprising that somebody would feel attraction to her? Not really. As a homosexual man, I can't entirely relate, as the vast majority of male characters in Bionicle were of the 'big stronk robot gun man' stereotype. For me, that'd be like whacking it to Optimus Prime. But to some, there still may be some appeal in the male Bionicle characters too. Look, acting all surprised that Rule 34 has played out in Bionicle is pretty dumb. Most popular franchises get sexualised by somebody at some point. Get a grip, and stop attacking people just because their preferences don't align with yours.

I myself have criticised this little craze, but only in jest. I'm totally ok with people finding attraction in whoever, fictitious or real, but it was indeed surprising to see this occur with Bionicle - and indeed, it wasn't up my alley anywho. But, whatever floats your goat man!

Biomedical Picture of the Day - Why Should Nebulas Have All the Fun?

I won't lie, as a biologist I've always been a little bit jealous that space photos get so much "ooh" and "ahh" love from everyone. 

When we stand on Earth and look up (or sit online and look out), images of the sky and deep space capture our imagination due to their vastness, their complexity and their ability to make us feel so curiously small. I feel the same way when I see images that look inward, to our smallest biological scales. Inside cells is a world teeming with complexity, beauty and an amazing sensation of "How can I be made of THIS?"
