it was like the writers were saying “we are so cool and hip we know what those on the internet like to make fun of!!” 

It seemed like lazy shallow writing tbh. “Lets add a new hot character but lets also have her make these references to make us seem cool and trendy!!”

That’s an awesome cherry on top of your vacation!

We had talked about a new PC vs just upgrading a video card since that’s where almost all of the performance improvement for gaming comes from these days.  But since my PC is over 5 years old there were a few other reasons to replace the whole things.  But I wasn’t expecting him to actually go out and get the parts while I was gone :D 

I was expecting the PC to show up in September for my Birthday / Anniversary.

I spent most of yesterday working on it and I think I have everything in place now.  My 2 old school data drives for video storage barely fit in the case but are now setup (Mr. Shenzi forgot that they weren’t SSDs :D)

We did run into a small problem last night, he missed hooking back up the cpu cooler after stuffing the data drives in and it over heated but it was smart enough to first undo the overclocking then shut itself down and after 10 minutes of cool off time it was fine.

The new PC has been designated “Uhura” and has been moved into it’s permanent position at my desk.  All our PCs are named after Star Trek, I just retired KiraNerys (also retired, Janeway, Crusher & Troi), the server is MrData, the laptop is “awayteam”.

The tinkering will most likely be on going for a few days....
