We’re more fascinated by black death than black life

I can't even look at this gawd damn kenneka jenkins story. Everybody on twitter coming up with their own little scenarios and stories of what they think happened like this is an episode of how to get away with murder. I get they're trying to help or something because police don't seem to be doing anything but it just turns my stomach. Like why is this all over social media and got 10,000 different stories and texts and videos about it like it's some high school drama that went down. Something about the way we treat black bodies doesn't sit right. Always on display to be poked and prodded and exhumed and exposed but never humanized. I see too much black death being trivialized and desensitized. When was the last time we’ve seen a white body treated with such disregard and disrespect. I’ve seen too much. Why are we so invested in the suffering of black people. We say it’s for justice but it doesn’t come and we continue to see black bodies.
