I could be at camp right now, if last summer hadn't been my last year as a camper. But what's odd is that I miss it but not more than I thought I would. See I thought I'd be crying over not being there, missing my sisters my friends but I'm not I think that's what moving on is though, you miss it but you don't need it I don't need camp like I need stories, I don't need those girls or that place like I need the friendship love and adventure I find in stories. I learned a lot that summer about just how weak I can get and how much I can overcome with help of books and fanfic. Stories did more than provide an escape for me last summer, they gave me a lifeline. When I was alone I could turn to familiar characters and fall into their world, where they got happy endings and they found love. I guess what I'm trying to say is that stories give you hope and that with time you can move on But moving on doesn't mean forgetting because every experience good or bad is a part of my life and deserves to be remembered. The pain that I felt and what I learned about myself and others matters but I can't let it cloud me. I have an entire world waiting to be explored and just because I've moved on doesn't mean that I've forgotten or that I don't miss camp. It just means that I don't miss it constantly and that I don't need it anymore, it's not my home.
