Pecker, who was once a famous racer in bird flying competitions, loses his sense of purpose after having his tail ripped off in an accident, making him unable to fly. After being forced to get out of the house by his friend Meadow, he stumbles upon a wormhole in a wishing well. He meets an alien taking on the appearance of a bat, by the name of Brownie. This changes everything for him - for better or for worse.

He used to be quite happy, very egotistical, and honestly an asshole towards others. But after his accident all of the happiness he had pushed down into the depths as a depression took over him, and his ego turned into thinking he’s a worthless good for nothing burden. His anger issues - which were once subdued due to his enjoyment for racing - got much worse. He has a hard time calming himself down, and has to hide himself in his room in order to not burst out into a fit of anger at someone.
He completely gave up ever being happy again for a long time, only just recently being forced by his friends to start doing things again. He has a softer side that comes out with his friends, a side even he doesn’t know all too much about himself.

Chipper, strong, and stubborn. She can be a bit snappy sometimes, but for the most part she tries to be a decent bird, she’s constantly doing something or talking to someone to keep her mind occupied. A heavy extrovert!
Meadow runs her own business called Cactus Cantina, a little bar in a cactus! She’ll do anything to keep it up and running, and she has the help of her adopted daughter Violet - who probably shouldn’t be working in a bar - to keep her company! She loves her friends deeply and tries her best to keep them all happy, which can be hard with some of them…
Although Meadow loves her work, she tends to use it as an excuse to overly drink, leading her to become a pretty intense alcoholic. She’s practically constantly drunk or drinking, but it’s so ingrained into her system that you can barely tell. Her not so great past doesn’t help her out much either, she never had great coping mechanisms dealing with it, and alcohol is her favorite method of forgetting it all so she can feel happy.

She used to be a lot more quiet and soft spoken and could barely trust anyone until she met Meadow, who helped her through her dealing with the aftermath of what her biological parents put her through. Now she’s a lot more bubbly and outgoing, and can be a lot more open with others!
She helps Meadow run her bar, usually by grabbing Meadow the drinks she needs. But deep down she really wants to become a bird flying racer just like Pecker, and looks up to him deeply, even if he can’t fly anymore. She also loves drawing, and does it a lot!

Blank eyes, you can never tell what he’s truly feeling, all he has is a what seems like a permanent smile, but it never seems like he’s happy. Calm, to a weird degree. very blunt, will tell you how it is, even if it’s rude, but he doesn't mean anything he says to actually be rude. Doesn’t seem to care much about things. Will try to not look you in the eyes. Has not been seen frowning.
Appeared one day out of a wormhole he happened to be in. He then meets Pecker, who of which he enjoys the presence of. Only Pecker has seen him in his true form. No one knows about his past or where he’s been as an alien from another plane of existence, he will not talk about it.

Okay done a massive revamp on them recently and story and whatnot so i’ll start there
So basically, a bit of backstory before i get into anything. There are a four continents (Tarijjar, Primaria, Mallar and Nappeur) which work as kingdoms and each continent has a ruler which runs that kingsom; these are called the Plumis. In the middle of the continents, is a small little island in the middle, called Ave’s island, with a huge tree and a city that lives on, in and underneath it (very inspired by guardians of ga’hoole). The main leaders and council lives there, which is comprised of three birds, and they oversee everything; these are called the Alis. Any big problems come to them
This method was working well and has been for ages until some birds in Nappeur didnt like it and overthrew their Plumis and the kingdom went into anarchy. The group that started it was called the Rapax (might change idk) and their main idea is that they shouldn’t be ruled by others who live elsewhere which everyone seemed to agreed with and suddenly the whole world plunged into war with the Alis and Rapax flighting eachother to keep in control. The war lasted a year or so before the Alis lost their final battle and the Rapax were in control, they took their army and stormed Ave’s island and killed the Alis and took the island for their own. The kingdoms and their populations now thought that they were gonna be independent but uh oh, the Rapax lied and now the whole world is in a dictatorship with the head of Rapax in charge.
All history books were changed to portray the Rapax as imperial and the Alis were basically wiped. All scholars were killed if they argued against them and all their work was burned. They took weak or rebellious birds and ‘de-specied’ them which involved dyeing their feathers black, cutting their flight feathers and removing their talons and used them to do labour.
Safe to say everyone regretted it
Time skip, there is an underground (metaphorical and literal, these birds live in caves) collection of birds, called The Volare, across the kingdoms who are working on a way to free birdkind from the Rapax. A prophet living with these birds in Tarijjar, forsees that there will be a bird which will be victorious and regain the control. The prophet sets off to Mallar where the bigger colony is to tell them where he spreads the word, however as he’s leaving to go to Nappeur he captured by guess who, the Rapax. They get the prophecy out of him and then kill him because theyre evil. The Rapax take this prophecy and decide to interpret it so that it seems like this unknown prophecy bird will make them victorious. Both groups know of the prophecy but each or convinced that this prophecy bird will make them all powerful.
And thats the backstory so far, names will probably change so yeah. Thats so much writing 😭 prepare for more, not gonna do tones on this because i do plan on making a comic and its still very much a work in progress.
So in the current timeline, Flick (red kite, main guy) and his sister, Aria (also red kite) live in a little hollow on Primaria. Aria has a disability that means her feathers grow weak and frail making flight impossible for her so her brother cares for her the best he can by feeding her and making it so the hollow is accessible from the floor so she can get in and out as she pleases. One day when Flick is out hunting, some Rapax soldiers are flying by and spot her and take her as shes weak and cant really flight back. Flick returns and frantically looks for her. He eventually finds her in one of the Rapax towers in the nearest city talking to Ebony (stellar’s sea eagle) who happens to be like the deputy head of the Rapax.
Ebony says that if Aria comes with her then, then she can imp her feathers (replacing the flight feathers so she can fly). This practice is usually frowned upon because a birds feathers holds lots of value to them so taking someone else’s feathers and wearing them is disrespectful (especially when we know these feathers arent gonna be ethical sourced). Flick doesnt want her to go but Aria is set on going already as she was sold as soon as she heard the words ‘fly’ and since he doesnt want her going alone, Flick complies on the condition he comes too.
With that, they’re heading back to the Rapax headquarters on Ave’s island.
I’ll leave it there so i dont spoil anything but any world building or general questions about what i gave will be answered joyfully 😋
