Normally when something like this happens I don’t really say anything, I just try to cut out what we’ve learned is bad and move on, this time I want to say something though because I think I owe it to myself more than anyone else.

I’ve been in the MCYT fandom for a decent while now and it genuinely breaks my heart a little whenever someone else turns out to be rotten, especially if it was someone I liked and found some comfort in.

I wasn’t really a big fan of Avid’s ever but I was still a part of their community, especially after vsmp.

I am still finding out about what’s happening and so I unfortunately can’t say as much as I wish I could but to every fan of Avid or Marm and to every person who was once their friend I can only wish you the best, please don’t blame yourself for not knowing that someone wasn’t who they said they were and please don’t blame yourself for making something for them (especially art and/or things like fanfic) you didn’t know so please don’t be too hard on yourself.

And finally, although I still don’t have a complete grasp on the situation (I was busy for most of the day and because of that was away from the internet as a whole for a while meaning I couldn’t learn things as they came out) I still want to make my stance really clear, I do not support avid or Marm, they have shown to be the type of people that I myself have had to deal with in the past in my own personal relationships and the fact that more people have had to deal with that sickens me.

Since there's more Harry Potter nonsense happening, unfriendly reminder to not engage with my work, unfollow me, block me, and then log off and engage with something new if you're an active Harry Potter enjoyer in this big year of 2026.

Thoughts are not crimes, I can not control the workings of your mind or the feelings in your heart, but I can and will remove you from my space and disallow you from engaging with my work if you talk about Harry fucking Potter still.

I've done the stupid thing of going into the comments of posts about the new release recently and seen people begging for absolution, begging for their honest and pure enjoyment of and engagement with the material or fan works without endorsing the creator to be good and allowed to continue without judgment. Let me be absolutely crystal clear; there is no condition of public consumption and engagement that is free from judgment. There is no secret combination of just the right kind of open engagement that won't be judged by someone. This is not unique to the situation but is very important to remember here. If you must engage because you simply can't be bothered to try something new and the knowledge of your support actively doing harm doesn't wilt your spirit enough; shutting up and not posting about it is free and easy and the one way to avoid judgment. Remember that no one can read your mind, but they can read your posts.

I know I don't have nearly the clout or engagement to get hoards of messages like other posters, but know ahead of time that if you come to me seeking absolution you will not find it, even for that, or that, or yes even that. There is nothing you can say to me that wont make me believe that you care more about validation of your interests over the lives and safety of trans people. Period.

anyway my bad good take on adoption is that it is, in a way, somewhat slavery adjacent if you consider the way that children are treated as the property of their parents and must defer to them on all matters? i mean you could arguably say that about any child of any parent, but there’s something palpable to me about the way adopted children are essentially bought by their new parents. doubly so for kids (like me) who came from a non-western country and were brought to a white one, specifically non-white children adopted by white families.

while adoption doesn’t necessarily result in forced labor per se, it’s more like you are now subject to the whim of the guardians who possess your legal rights. listen, i might be biased as someone who has a less than great relationship with my parents, but i feel like… well i just can’t put my finger on what’s so wrong about it.

i think other adoptees can speak to the feeling of being property to some extent. existing to fulfill the dream of someone else and not your own, never your own.

don’t get me wrong, it’s not like i wish i grew up in central china instead of in the us. for some reason that’s the number one response when i gripe about the way i grew up. “does that mean you wish you stayed in china?” no i fucking don’t. but i don’t think it was fair that i had to endure this sort of alienation either.

My idea for Season 2 of the Hollow(if we actually get one)

Hello!!! If your like me, have no self control, and are reading the post, you’ve probably just binged all of @netflix’s The Hollow. A sci-fi, mystery show about three kids with amnesia trying to get home from a crazy world. The show is one season with 10 episodes and the season finale is what I think we all wanna talk about. <Warning!!!!! Spoilers ahead!!>

So in the season finale of the show, after all this build up and getting more and more curious about the world these characters are in, we get the ending. The finale.

One word: Lackluster.

They were in a video game. That’s the ending to this big mystery. To this great show with its amazing plot. The only thing worse would’ve been an ‘It’s all a Dream’ ending. I’m not hating the crew or even Netflix, I just wanna see a better ending. Even if we don’t get one, or a season 2, I still love the show.

So! Here’s how I-personally- would fix the ending and set up season 2:

Get new actors and have the first episode or two be Live action with better actors who actually resemble the kids ages (Vanessa looked like she was 20 or something and don’t get me started on Adam) and we have Adam think like ‘oh I saw Vanessa’s eye glitch, I think we still could be in the game’ and the others easily write him off like ‘no it was a video game everything makes sense leave it alone’ but Adam doesn’t leave it alone.

He keeps seeing these little inconsistencies like things being there and then disappearing or the fact that they haven’t heard from the other kids since they got out of the game. So he tried to tell the others (maybe use this episode to show that they’ve kinda become friends and let’s get a lazy excuse for how they ended up playing the game together like they won a school contest just to put them in the same high school) and they don’t belive him then something happens like Adam catching a ball that was zooming at him that a normal human shouldn’t have been able to catch (or Mira thinking she heard someone say something when the only thing around was an animal or Kai thinking he saw a flame move when his parents are cooking and he waves his hand I dunno Doesn’t matter) they meet up, think Adam is right and go to talk to Weirdy. Who now has blue skin and reveals that they are still trapped in the game.

(Dunno if Weirdy is good or bad but let’s say he does something, a portal or whatever or some weird riddle and bam! We’re back in an animated video game world.

I don’t know what the mystery for this season could be. Maybe getting back to the real world? Maybe have a better twist that they were actually video game characters and not real or the twist that the video game is the real world and or something I dunno, but that’s what I think should happen if we got a S2. The crew made a really good show and mystery that was Gravity Falls level of ‘I need to have answers as to what’s going on’ and I think they could do it again. I personally really like all of the show besides a few character moments and the last two minutes besides the weird eye glitch and hope a season two comes out.

Either way this was a great show and I’m glad I got to experience it! If you enjoyed Voltron, Gravity Falls, or Trollhunters I definitely recommend it.
