Emus may not be able to fly, but for such a big bird they sure can run. Standing at 5.2 - 6.2 feet high, these flightless birds have small wings relative to their body size. Their long, powerful legs, though, allow them to run up to about 30 miles (50 kilometers) per hour. They achieve this incredible speed with the aid of their three forward-facing toes which allows them to grip the ground, and in turn thrusts them forward. #emu #ratites #birdsofnature #australianbirds #nature #pettingzoo #farmlife #farmliving #farmtours #agritourism #visitalmatfarms #almatfarmslive (at Abuja, Nigeria) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQRbc-jHUvN/?utm_medium=tumblr
